2016 Preseason

So I have a question about the 2016 preseason. If you play ranked during this time will your MMR be affected both positively and negatively? Ex. I'm D5 if I play in the preseason and say get demoted will my MMR be put at plat 1 MMR or stay D5. And Vice Versa if I ranked up to D3 or higher will my MMR be locked in at those ranks? I'm just wanted to know so I can see what I'll be ranked after my Provisionals.
