Patch Logs? Patch Archive? Where can i go to look up the different patch revisions in one place?
It's tough joining a game, after not reading patch-notes and get hit by a wall of changes and is forced to relearn a champ mid game. Playing the game shouldnt have to feel like homework, which isnt me insulting the need to read the patch notes. But i shouldn't have to research thru ton of updates to find the information on my particular champ that was changed or modified. League should offer a singular location where there's 1 archive that list and notates on all of the changes and revisions to their champs, items or even maps.
Can anybody tell me what patch # they removed the healing passive on kindreds wolf frenzy? Or when the changes to malz spawn were done? How about when nid's Q range was modified?
The only way to answer questions like these, is to go to a forum discussion board, where each update has it's own page. Which isnt bad, but extremely annoying when there are so many logged. I dont play for a week, maybe a month... possibly, i took a 3-6month hiatus. I come back, and the games completely different and new. I dont know who's changed. I cant remember the last patch log i read.... I dont want to play catch by sitting on forum for an hour trying understand what's new.
TL;DR: League should just offer users a page where they can click on a selectable champ, in-game item, or map and be able to view ALL the different changes made to it. In the event a player needs a brief run down just to catch-up on how their last experience with a champ was modified, they wouldnt need to hunt it down in the forum section.
Also note, it isnt hard to implement, and any of their database admins/analytics team could resolve such a simple design. Note asking for anything major that'll require 3 months of development to produce. But something like that can be split between 1-2 staff members (Web development team, and Sr database admin) and be made in like 2 weeks, tops. From there, it then just comes down to the patch team to enter the information accordingly in the new terminal and move away from forums (or they could do both, idc). All i'm saying is, it's a lot simpler and easier to digest and absorb, when you know what you're looking for, and where to find it. Than to be given a shitload of information one time, and be asked to "figure it out."
