I can't farm as a mage? (In general not in lane) Need help

I need help, Something is wrong. I'm currently Plat5 with 70% winrate 3TP top main. I just stomp and farm all game non-stop and always be overlevel but as a mage, I can lasthit and everything but at the end I get around 40-50 cs/10 mins for no reason? [zombie-brand-facepalm] Like I have no idea what i'm doing wrong. I take mostly 5-6 every wave but somehow I get lost with roaming/drake/assisting jungler and at the end of the day I HAVE LIKE 170 CS 30 MINS wtf is wrong? How do I fix it? Is there a way to farm 24/7 as a mage like a toplaner? 90% of my games in top so dunno

Wave control. You need to watch when there's a wave headed into your tower and plan your roams so that you'll be there to catch it. Then leave it slowly pushing towards the enemy tower when you go to join your team (or shove it straight into their turret to get some damage on it, if other lanes are already pushing in your favor).

if your referring to a midlane mage, then ur expected to roam more often and thus would have less CS then a top laner. theoretically you should also have a greater kills/assist numbers as a result, or at least more opportunities to get kills/assists.
