How to level more quickly?

I am relatively new to the game, maybe 40 games played in total. Is there a way to level up any quicker aside from XP boosts from the in game store? I'd really like to play rank ASAP.

You're going to want to get as many games in as you can before you jump into ranks. If you want to at least get somewhere. I've had some friends on League jump right in and have only stayed in Bronze V, they make it to Bronze IV if they're lucky.

There are 5 roles to play, with over 120 champions to choose from. Familiarizing yourself with a lot of them will take time. But if you really want to, then yeah just buy XP boosts, and farm your First Win Of The Day, but XP boosts are kind of a waste of money in my opinion.

play a lot, make sure you to grab first win of the day bonus, dont start ranked till you have 500 wins as a minimum, this way you will have sizable champ pool, decent set of runes and some basic knowledge of all champs and most importantly you wont end up in bronze

then you end up in bronze, you need some 40 champs and most of them cost a fortune :D

You do realize that a vast majority of top tier players only play a few champs right? (By few I mean roughly 1-3)

EDIT: I would like to say this isn't to argue against the idea of waiting. I support the idea of putting off until you feel more comfortable/knowledgeable, but in SoloQ people tend to do better when they focus on a very small champ pool.

those top tier players played 4-8 thousand games or even more it matters little how many champs or role they play. I do agree with You that mastering few select champs at the time is best way to go, but you still need knowledge of other picks and some basic mechanics so that you wont get raped by lets say swain with 300 ap lol nub swain only 300 ap right?
