What is the deal with Vayne?

What is says on the tin really. How did Vayne get through beta testing without someone noticing just how OP she is? There is no art or skill to playing her, just run head long at the enemy and hope not to get into an early team fight.

The only time she's realistically killable is early game, once she's got a Blade of the Ruin King, that's it. Pack up and go home. I've seen so many games going equal till the twenty minute mark, only to then be broken by Vayne. You can throw whole teams at her, and they come back in pieces.

It's ridiculous. You can't out tank that kind of damage, you can't fight it either due to how much life steal can be stacked. It just gets worse and worse. You either throw everyone at her and hope that one person comes back out again, or deal with the rest of the team, and then get picked off by her.

I can't be the only person who's noticed this. So I ask again, why, oh why, hasn't something been done about this?

I know that perfectly balancing all characters is impossible, some will always be better than others, but this is taking the mick.

Bork has not always existed.

Wasn't it madred's blood razor or something like that before? I wasn't around that but I've seen the comparison. And if so, why did they remove madred's and replace it with botrk?

Madred's was removed because the odd combination of stats and the magic damage on the on-hit effect meant that it was only really acceptable to build it on Warwick, and rarely Kog. No one else could choose to get it no matter what the game state was because it was still inefficient to do so. It was removed because of that, and BoRK was reworked some time later to fill the itemization gap with something that would actually work.

The idea was that AD carries and fighters would have the option to itemize into it based on the enemy team comp without being so specifically tied to the power of 1-2 champions. It would still be better on some champions than others but it should be at least a situational option for many champions. It's worked pretty well. Much better than Bloodrazor.

Interesting. Did that have anything to do with them giving wriggles the feral flare upgrade? Was that before or after the change?

Not really. Bloodrazor was removed around the end of season 2 in preperation for the season 3 item changes (blade was also added at this time, but had to get significant changes followed by major nerfs in order to fill the role properly). Feral Flare was added a decent way into season 4 because there had been a longstanding weakness in farming junglers. That's a long enough time difference that I don't think Feral Flare had much to do with BloodRazor. By that point people were only thinking about BotRK when it came to figuring out what new items to put in.

Yeah I agree with you on the time period. Sorry for so many questions. I only started playing on the (possibly later half), of season 4. I'm pretty sure my first log in screen was Braum's if that gives you any sort of timeline

Sorry for so many questions.

You don't need to apologize for asking questions. There's nothing wrong with that.
