Can someone please explain the provisionals to me?

So I just finished my provisionals for the season. I know, I'm a little late to the party, but I have had a busy life up till now. Anyways, I was placed pronze 4 last year after doing all my promos duo with a friend who got silver 4 from the same promos. We went 5 and 5, if anyone cares. Needless to say, as a support main, this kinda pissed me off. I got my ADC fed and far, and I was pushed far below him.

This year, I decided to solo que for all of them. Again, a little crazy as a support main, but I wanted to see how well I could do personally. I did pretty well, actually. I went 7-3, and got A or better in 9 of my games. I just recently finished my 10th game, and it placed me bronze 3. Now, I know that they are supposed to take into account things like where I placed last year at the end of the season (silver something), how well I did personally, and how many games I won/lost.

So please, can someone help me understand this? I actually do well, and I go up only 1 division from what I'm placed last year? Am I just doomed to be placed in bronze every year as a support player because I have more assists than I do kills? I know this sounds very QQ, and it kinda is. Honestly though, I just wanna know what the hell is going on with this.
