You need to be practically fisting someone to get that damage output though. Besides, Swian builds tank too for surviveability, so it's perfectly fine.
thats point blank, so im guessing he will be good at assisting with drag/rift herald/baron, but the cooldown is low and his range is short so he could be a viable 
user being able to benefit from all the stats it gives making it so upon completion by spamming q he can take towers fast too.
2.5 second cooldown what the fuck is that
He's basically going to be hitting you with an automatic shotgun, better run
yet taliyahs q does more damage and has farther range on an only slightly longer cooldown...
Wait, last time i saw about new swain, i knew that they dont take bonus dmg from a different bolt. Anyway relax your tits down. You have to be in his face in order to deal that much dmg. And besides his lifestealing thing, he doesnt have any defensive steroids.
People saying it's hard to land keep in mind Swain is played top. Against melees trying to cs, they'll be forced to get close to him, in addition to taking dmg from aas. The piercing of the bolts further extend his range. Trying to commit him is risky because of how his low CD Q is like Graves' shotgun, so it's suicide to get close to him.
How to deal with him? Play under turret farm, and hope your jgler ganks before his.
It's already obvious he's going to be a pain in the ass to lane against.
btw he needs to be in range closer than yasuo's Q for proccing all bolts,he will be a nightmare for melees and a free lane for long range mages,i think it's not fair

Not gonna lie, played Swain just now and he seems kinda underwhelming. I was mid against Orianna with Phase rush and Inspiration second. Is he just a top laner now?
