Will champion mastery level 6 and 7 cost more blue essence after preseason changes?

I understand most of the coming changes and their implications, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere if upgrading champion mastery levels to 6 and 7 is going to cost more blue essence after the IP/blue essence merge. It seems like it would have to in order to maintain the balance of the "IP economy" or whatever you would like to call it. I am sitting on tons of mastery tokens because I have been spending IP and essence on new champions instead of the (admittedly useless) mastery upgrades. So I guess my root question is should I spend the blue essence I have NOW on mastery upgrades and/or unlocking champion shards, or should I wait until preseason, after the merge?

yes, they talked about that in the recent faq.

they will cost more, but you will also get more blue essence in the new system (as it becomes the new IP). so it will be just as hard to get enough blue essence to lvl up after the changes than it is now.

but you should upgrade every mastery you can by now, as the price to do so will be scaled up harder than your current blue essence you have in your loot.

same goes for shards, best is to disenchant the ones you don't need now, including skin shards.

Ok, that makes sense. Skin shards as well? I wasn't aware there were going to be changes to the orange essence system. I thought it was fine the way it was. Where was this FAQ posted? Do you have a link?

actually just rechecked, Tokens will be scaled up the same as BE, so you don't have to use them now.

But here you can find the part about the Shards. Under the point "Loot rebalancing", they say that skin Shards will be affected too.
