Can Shen's w scale by max health please?

The way his w shield is right now just feels useless to me. It scales with ap, a stat Shen is not nearly as effective as health, and uses up like 1/4 of his energy. I almost never find myself using it late game, because once I get there the shield it provides is so pathetic it's not worth using the energy on. mid game it's decent, but if it did scale off health it wouldn't make it much stonger at that point anyway.

Not asking for a Naut size shield, just enough to make it worth using.

Still a mediocre jungler with that build. Other junglers are strictly better right now. Most low clearers have an AoE ability, and Shen doesn't have that. Plus, his ganks are really bad for a tank. His counterganks have a long cooldown and require Lv. 6.

Dude just.....use this.

Shen summoner 11 summoner 12 item 3111 item 3717 item 3116 item 3075 item 3001 item 3083

9x Flat Armor Reds 9x Energy Regen Yellow 6x Flat CDR Blues 3x Magic Resist Blues 1x Armor Quint 2x Run speed or quints of your choice.

go 4-22-4 taking the CDR in Offense, the obvious choices in defense and the run speed and recall reduction in utility.

Your shield is now worth using and your Q hits for around 500 damage with the auto attack, every few seconds. You have a decent slow on your Q and you do solid damage. With a decent leash starting double golems you don't even need to use health pots on your first clear and can simply farm until you get cinderhulk before recalling if you want to, you never go much under half HP and you can just tele in to the lane the enemy jungler ganks first and counter gank.

Start Q, then get your W, take your E 3rd even though it wont seem worth it so you can tele counter gank if you need to.

If you want to go top lane, which I wouldn't suggest, as there are simply better top laners, just swap out the Cinder for Sunfire, swap the run speed quints for hp and go 9-21-0 or take attack speed quints and go 8-21-1 getting the CDR and Attack speed with the recall reduction.

Riot wants it to be useless right now because when it is strong it provides a low counterplay durability and damage boost all at once, which they've said they don't want. It is basically the second most toxic thing in his kit (according to Riot) aside from his point and click harass/sustain.

Shen needs a rework, they aren't ever going to give him any significant buff until they finish it.

I 100% agree with the above post. On another note I see people mentioning jungle shen here and there is absolutely no reason he shouldn't be able to TAUNT JUNGLE MONSTERS! [Excluding Baron and Dragon] This would make his clears a lot smoother [ redcuced damage from camps ] Also Shen would make a really cool addition to the jungle! I mean why not! Pantheon can jump on monsters with his E so Shen should have that same privilege as well. I also want to point out at how good pantheon is at pressuring jungle objectives with his ult. Shen should totally be able to do the same! [ With the assistance of a co-initiator of course =D]

Can Shen not be a tank? Like seriously what NINJA is a tank? Rework him please. Isn't his rival Zed or something? How the hell is he supposed to beat him if he does nowhere near the same amount of damage?

I feel like people forget this, but shields also scale off resistances

Snake Town5/13/2015, 5:17:36 AM2 votes

Honestly his shields best part is the extra cooldown on his passive XD

Angry Monster5/14/2015, 3:17:22 AM1 votes

To have health scaling on his shield you have to pull power from somewhere else. What are you willing to give up?

Big Bang Bob5/14/2015, 3:18:26 AM1 votes

Its scaling should be small so it can stay spammy. It feels kinda cool that way.

Sweet mother of panda... I NEVER thought of building Shen like that... Very interesting... will have to try.

What if they switch his e energy cost with his q. Shen's current passive allows him to recuperate energy sooner: Every basic attack reduces the cooldown by 1 second, up to 2 seconds while Feint holds. Encourage players to play him to his strengths that of being able to get good use out of his passive I would suggesting giving feint armor and mr while its up. This will make it easier for him to regain energy. Because of this I would make it cost 60 energy. Give feint flat mr and armor while feint is up. so like 5,10,15,20,25. Sort of similar to garen’s W. PASSIVE: Garen's bonus armor and magic resistance are increased by 20%. Instead of a shield he has % dmg reduction as an active. In turn Vorpal Blade would now cost 50 energy Given that its cost less it would have to get nerfed a bit. Current Values: 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+ 60% AP) New Values: 60 / 95 / 130 / 165 / 200 (+60% AP)

I think it would be a win win for both spells. Since it helps you use q more often to heal off of new targets. Whereas right now id be hesistant to use q at its energy cost. Its also handy since the target you marked may be out of reach/kite you. Be better to just switch targets. be easier/less costly to proc triforce sheen with q. The only down side would be not having a shield with next to no health/energy left.

{quoted} Honestly, Shen being where he is I don't feel like a nerf to the q damage would be necessary, but maybe I'm wrong about that.

The reason is because I'm giving his shield a large buff such that it costs him more energy. If his q energy cost remain the same his total energy cost would increase Granted his dash did use to cost 120.

I reworked his q values such that lvl 1,2 and 3 wouldn't be affected much, can still cs with it as easily with it early game. Come level 4,5 that it get hit. Still just 20dmg isn't that bad. And with 10 less energy on q that's pretty handy.

His q always did have pretty decent base number its its scaling that isn't great. I think his kistrike is where the damage is at and I think a buff to feint would help a lot with triggering it.

I also think feint should apply kistrike if there 1 sec left on kistrike's cool down since its suppose to shave off two seconds. Right now you're not getting its stats worth per se

They may want to nerf his base armor stats ever so slightly though if they do implement this.

Do all shields need to scale off AP?

Or need I remind everyone about Riven?

Canastus5/13/2015, 5:08:30 PM1 votes

Shen right now is anything but viable, that much is certain. He's a relic of forgotten times and terribly outdated compared to newer champs. It's too bad Riot hasn't replied to any top rated Shen threads so far.

I can't be the only one here who thinks Shen top is awesome, right?

I'm afraid he'll get a rework and his laning power will be trashed. Then I'll lose my awesome top laner. D:
