Hello I am P1 mid lainer and this is my conscious understanding of a midlainers laining phase that play for early lain control, I hope that a high Elo player can correct everything I've missed or have a wrong understanding of, my goal is challenger so don't hold back thx. Sry for my extremely bad grammar btw.

Goes into lain knowing how both champions win their trades and have a gameplan to actively win trades by either poking or zoning when the enemy goes for last hit, also actively looking to punish the enemy for mispositioning and when there abilities/autos are on cd while keeping an eye on the minimap to see if all enemy lainers are in there lain and where the friendly jungler is and what the next neutral objective is. Uses the knowledge from the minimap to ward the side witch my jungler will be on within 30 sec or on the side were the neutral objective will be if the lains besides it has lain priority so they can contest the objektive. And inside the lain u position actively to the side that you have warded.

If this is done successfully you should have a kill or cs advantage, once you think you are able to 1v1 the enemy u should look to gain as much gold and XP as possible while minimizing the enemy's gold and XP. This is done threw freezing and zoning you enemy if the enemy doesn't have long enough range to break it otherwise you should crash and ether poke, dmg tower, eat jungle camps, get deep vision, roam, fake roam or make plays with your jungler like invading or diving mid or the side lains. While doing this you should ofc always be in a position to roam first to small skirmishes.
