Everything wrong with League

I've been playing League for over 3 years now. It's my favorite game ever and I really love it but there are some things, I think, need to be changed. It's my first post here so this will contain a lot of topics. Firstly, I'll make short introduction of myself. Skip it if you're not interested.

Hi, My name is Arek. I'm a platinium 2 player who has some ideas of how League of Legends can be improved. We all love this game, but I think there's still a lot to do. Especially community-wise. I'm sorry if my English isn't perfect. If something is unclear, write below, I'll try to rephrase it. I'll write point-by-point so if you want to comment on specific topic, just say for example A1. to comment about 1st topic. Ok, let's get down to business.

I think one of the basic problem with League is its community. I lost track of players I've reported for verbal abuse after just couple of days. Being called a "noob" or worse isn't anything out of ordinary. I think we should invest some time and try to remove toxic behaviour from the game because this is the main reason I sometimes get upset over this game.

  1. "MID OR TROLL!!!" attitude in new players minds PROBLEM: I still don't understand why new players have to play blind mode. This has already taught some toxic behaviour models. On lower levels especially, there's this FIGHT FOR MID, where everyone instalocks a midlaner champion, then as fast as he can writes "mid!" in chat and then fights with others about who said it first. So it didn't take more than 30sec to have first fight in match. It's because things like this, your team creates an negative enviroment and from now on it's easy to get cought in toxity snowballing. Ofcourse it's common that the fight doesn't end up on agreement so there's two people playing mid, or one of them trolls or simply goes AFK for the whole game. With this attitude to "MID OR TROLL!" new players join ranked games where there's this (often new to them) draft mode, which they don't know how to deal with so they simply do what they have learned while they were under 30lvl players. SOLUTION: There's gotta be at least a couple of ways to fix this. Team builder mode is an awesome idea you guys had earlier. Why not use this in early stages of gaining experience in League? You can pick where you want to go and don't have to fight for that "mid" or some other lane. Plus captain has a chance to veto a player with pick he doesn't feel is good for his team team comp. When I started playing League I really liked this Nocturne champ but I didn't know he's not a mid laner or he's not a good adc, cause I had no clue about the game and the champs. But there's a simple solution for this. When you pick a MIDLANE option there could be typical midlane champs shown in the champion box so new players would know what champs are usually picked for this lane.

  2. NO SUPPORT BOT PROBLEM: Support role is often seen as the most boring one therefore very small number of new players takes the pleasure of supporting over an ability to kill off entire enemy team. You guys had made some good changes to supports making them more fun to play, but why stop there. Being support is actually pretty fun, but new players have to see it, so we've got to make a support role more attractive. SOLUTION: Why not give an experience boosts for players who pick the support champs? Not having a support in your team is never a good thing, and when a player feels forced to pick support because every other player has already locked in on that mid champion it creates a bad experience and negative emotional assosiation for that role. Having a teambuilder mode erases this problem too.

  3. TROLLS IN GAMES - GOD I HATE THEM PROBLEM: This problem doesn't only apply to new players' games, but it's a common problem even on platinum level. What do you do when you have a player who can't work with your team and decides to troll this one and goes zilean jungle or sth? Well, you or your fellow teammates will probably have to skip this match and leave the queue, making you, not the troll, pay for this kind of behaviour. Personally I don't think this is fair. Secondly, even if the game actually start and you play for that 20min, wasting your time, you finally have a chance to report that toxic player, but then what? The player probably says: "I don't care. report me" that's probably because he's got 4 more accounts and even if he gets 1 banned it doesn't really matter, plus you'd really have to make an effort to get at least temporarly banned. I remember when there was a stormy weather in my country for a few days. I got kicked out of matches couple of times, which lead up to me having many reports of "leaving the game or AFK". Well I probably deserve some punishment you might think...hmmm....no! Only thing I had to do is to "Agree" on not leaving the games more... that's just ridiculus. I've wasted about 20 people time, made them lose their points, causing them to be furious enough to report me and all I have to do is promise to Riot I'll try not to afk anymore. I mean: are you kidding me? That's the main reason why people don't respect reports and don't care about it. Because they don't do anything. At least I think so, I can't actually tell, because there's no indicator to show me what happened to people I reported. I have no clue. Why not show this information like in Tribunal? It'd help more players to believe in system and actually make them feel that their report made a difference. Actually while I'm on the topic I wanted to know why I get to play with a player who verbaly abused me in the previous game? After first game I reported a guy who was harrasing me, and clicked to play another one, and there he is: this toxic player i just reported. Again, not the troll or toxic player gets the punishment but me. That's not how this should work. SOLUTION: Increase the importance of report, making it matter, and actually have an influence! Show what happened to players you have reported Show reports that you've got yourself (seeing that somebody reported you over verbally abusing might make you not do that anymore) Do not connect you with players you have just reported, thats just rude Make multi-account players pay too, and not only switch to another account.
