Calling the 10 aatrox mains
Pardon my English with this giant chunk of text I'm about to type.
With the aatrox rework on the horizon, I wanted to talk about the potential directions riot could be looking at and speculate abit.
Now, I'm no aatrox expert but preseason has felt pretty good to aatrox with the precision tree providing aatrox the Base atk speed needed to build tanks with no atk speed items or just go ham skirmisher style. Grasp also functioning pretty well for aatrox although an atk spd item(probably pd) is required to not make his aa feel clunky.
Imo,he ain't in the super bad spot he was in a few patches back. So now that we know the aatrox rework has found direction and seems to be making good progress, what do you guys think about what the direction is/should be and what changes do u think should be done to his kit?
P - For me, that passive has to go. The 5 stack is clunky and the revive is just flavourless. I mean it's literally just a GA that doesn't even proc before GA. It encourages stupid plays and acts as a cushion for them. I understand that can be a highpoint for some players but there really isnt much counterplay to it when it's active and the stacking(which is supposed to be the counterplay) isn't fun for the aatrox player.(it's similar to ryze passive but proceed at the rate of a frigging snail in a 1v1/with no ult) Ontop of that, the bloodwell serves ONLY his passive and has absolutely no significance on his skills, which, would be nice to see being added in the form of empowered skills.
Q - I like the q. Maybe make it little clearer where it's gonna knockup. It's quite inaccurate.
W - preferred the old one for that ebb and flow feeling with the life trade for dmg and the insane healing.
E - this thing is God awful hard to hit. Thematically, how does this thing even work. You have a sword that slashes open two rifts beside him, colliding at a single point? Perhaps a double cleave would make more thematic sense and add to that God of war feeling in a team fight.
R - I like that feeling of his ult changing him into this "super" aatrox mode. Maybe stat and number changes here.
Class - now this is the part I feel quite alot of aatrox players have deferring preferences on. Should aatrox be a hard tank? Aka vanguard, bruiser/diver? Or a skirmisher/slayer with massive healing. Depending on the direction, aatrox would require some, very much different tools. Namely, either defensive steroids if bruiser/tank such as a damage reduction somewhere in his kit/more reliable ways to stay alive without the atkspeed. I'm leaning towards skirmisher/slayer honestly, because that's what I love about his current playstyle. You can just rip through squishy teams if not chained CCed and can duel tanks out pretty well in long fights.
So what do you guys think?
