I just got done dredging through the oh so pleasant April Fools "prank" you guys decided to grace me with this year. If the tone of that sentence didn't alert you to the fact that i'm not happy then let me spell it out for you I-M-N-O-T-H-A-P-P-Y. All I wanted to do was get some practice games in before I went to bed and instead I get thrown into a game where I am led to believe the enemy team are all bots despite the fact that I wanted to do a normal draft and to top it all off i'm told that I can't even leave the game because leaver buster is still being enforced. To say that my team and I were pissed would be an understatement. Although I will admit I was far more upset than anyone else on the team the general mood was unpleasant. I just wanted to open mid and end the game but I played it out with as little effort as possible because my team wanted to try to win. So instead of pulling some amazing prank you instead ruined the experience of thousands of players like my team and I who mindlessly wasted half an hour shoving lanes wishing we could just play a normal fucking game.

(If you were hellbent on doing an event like this you could have at least made a new SEPARATE que and told players you were testing a new AI and were looking for beta testers so that the people who don't care about stuff like Urf/Aram/One for all/etc could go on playing a regular game of LoL undisturbed. I would have thought after how poorly the draven heads were received you would have figured this out by now)

They can downvote me all they want but not a single person can argue in favor of this event or tell me why it is acceptable to ruin games over a lame prank that isn't even funny.

How about the fact that my entire team was tilted from minute one because we thought we were in an AI game? Or how we did nothing but afk shove lanes, never bothered to ward anything or itemize in any decent sort of way because we were all barely putting any effort into the game. Nobody cared if we won or lost the game so nobody even tried. If you don't consider that ruining games then you're delusional.

I thought it was humorous, but I guess that's the issue with the League community. Too many players don't know what a game is. This is one of the only games I've played where they "celebrate" April Fools. The mere fact that the "bots" were able to play on your level should've been encouragement enough to try, let alone the fact that they aren't even bots.

But they weren't on my level....i got first blood at lvl 3 and started doing dumb shit like solo tower diving with no summoners while bot lane was getting double and triple kills in the first 10 minutes. We would have run away with that game if we actually knew they were people but we threw the whole game by afk shoving lanes solo, never warding and putting in the least amount of effort possible to get through the game because nobody wanted to be there. It's hardly fair to demonize me or anyone else that shares my opinion because we don't enjoy having a game ruined for no reason.

It queue's you with players "on your level" since it is, in fact, a normal draft. You can't say that they weren't on your level, that's like a silver player saying they belong in plat. A little bit of attention and it becomes obvious in an instant though. The bot jungler has smite, they have keystones, etc. From the start there was nothing that even seemed like a normal bot match anyways. I had people roaming, ganking, etc. So you can really only blame yourself if you took it that personally.

Okay I can't be the only one with this opinion, but this was pretty lazy. Yea I'm not expecting URF or anything half as good but this just doesn't feel right at all. If the whole joke is a UI change I'm gonna be pretty sad. April Fool's Day is the day that League used to own as their holiday with fun and interesting patches and over the last two years it devolved form a really awesome well exectued game mode, to a silly gimmick that got old, and then to literally just normals with a UI change. I'm super dissapointed. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

I mean, I'm not saying it was amazing. Me and my friends had a good laugh, but it wasn't anywhere near "URF" level amazing. I wish they'd still let us have our week of URF, but as i said, most games I play don't even celebrate an April Fools joke.

I'm going to give you the benifit of the doubt that you aren't trolling and spell it out for you: there was no advanced bot test. Riot just made every enemy players name become 'xyz bot' and disabled all chat. You were playing against real people the whole time. Your attitude is what cost you your valuable practice time because you should have just played it out and been able to notice that they can't actually be bots - and then postgame chat should have made it obvious.

No shit it was against real people. The point is that nobody knew that when the game started and didn't put in any effort to win nor did they do anything they would normally do like warding or recalling at low hp which completely ruined the game. THAT. IS. MY. POINT. Is this simple enough for YOU to understand?

That's all on you and your teamates with the poor attitudes for not putting in the effort. Clearly the enemy team who also saw you as bots took it seriously.

Riot made april fools URF day from year one. From the release of the champ itself. Then skins for years. Then a game mode. Last year they got nice and uncreative. Draven heads woot. Now lets just change the name of your opponents. They have given up on URF and his day. You're also only speaking to a group of people who have probably played less than 3 years. Its all about ranked now, and Riot doesnt care about anyone else.
