Won 8/10 first provisional (first ranked games ever) placed in Bronze 5 Oce

I do not even understand how this works. So if I win 10/10, I would have been Bronze 3? 2 years back I got 8/10 on EUW and was placed Gold 5. Im not even gonna try climbing the ladder now. Does anyone have a reason as to why this happened. I was not even carried, I carried some games and my KDA was not bad. SMH. Riot tends to screw new players over by forcing them down on the bottom of the ladder. I went 8-2 last season and got Bronze 5 as well. First time doing ranked. And I carried each game back in my adc days. It works based off of your "MMR" apparently, and Riot grades is in placements for your first account as "If you're not as good as Faker against beginner bots as you are in these matches, you're not getting outta bronze".
