Champion Update: Galio, the Colossus

Hello, My name is mad. I have a group of people I play with league 5 of us are galio mains or in the past mained galio for 2-3 seasons and we Have come to spread our thoughts.

  1. galio's rework is very clean and I'm actually enjoying it. At first I thought that Galio would be ruined as of yesterday I was very anxious when I saw his abilities but then I go to see gameplay of it and how he works. I'm very impressed with the results.

  2. Galio's thematic fantasy of being an anti-mage still exists and even better that he can build into against ad comps but works more efficient to ap as his Passive, W, and Ult (R) scales off his magic resist.

  3. Galio's gameplay is very unique to him, May prove to be too strong, or too weak. looks strong but It's only been one day and I'm quite happy with what riot has done to him cough the model thou

  4. The board is now tasked to make the most glorious memes for the glorious galio. Hint hint

TL;DR we are happy with what riot has done and it still shows old galio, I'm glad they kept the old and in with the new it's a mixture of both and it satisfies us the mains of old galio and new players who will get to know the gargoyle of league we all love.

i refuse to play newlio without a traditional skin

he looks like something out of the power rangers or transformers

Glad you like it. I don't have a PBE account so I'm stuck waiting till his full release. Looking foward to it.

i think they should add a skin of galio as superman because when i saw that login screen it reminds me of superman with is big S chest. please riot i would like to see that

I have played Galio too. He is a terrible rework. His "e" is soooo slow to get off...the draw back animation makes it unusable, unless you are playing bots or idiots. His ultimate requires ally, so it is useless in 1 v 1 or when you are alone. He runs so damn slow. His "w" sucks. sigh......all they had to do was beef his abilities damage a little bit.....what happened to the "gonna interact with turrets" like a real gargoyle concept? Just a shit rework....

RIOT, I gotta tell you the truth. I played Galio and his re-work is not very good. Reasons are listed below:

  1. Ultimate move requires an ally, therefore making it a weaker and less versatile version of Pantheon's ultimate.
  2. E move is slow and predictable, hard to land, and misses often. It also has no effect if you miss your target, this is a big weakness. At least other characters, like Vi, with similar moves have an area of effect so that even if you miss the target, it can still hit minions and stuff.
  3. W shield move is weaker and less useful than Galio's previous shield. The fact that it only blocks magic damage is really bad. Malphite passive shield is way better.

Looking at the points listed above, you can see the biggest problem with Galio is that his moves are unoriginal and other characters in the game have better versions of Galio's skills. The only good thing about Galio is his Q move and his passive. Please tweak his ultimate, E, and W moves. Thank you for your time.
