I Just Can't Win(Even When I Do)

Never have I been flamed so consistently match after match.

I took a long break from playing League and I've come back to find that just about everything about it has changed. The last time I played ranked was around S7 and I ended it in S3 after climbing up from B4.

I used to be a bot/support main but the former of the roles has just been changed so much that it's hard for me to adjust. My old mains like Jinx Ezreal Ashe MissFortune have been pretty much flipped on their head. They're practically unplayable for me now. Minions have been buffed so it's harder for me to last hit more than ever and don't get me started on getting people who actually know how to supp to save their lives in the elo I'm in. My last support was a Rammus and I still caught all the blame for losing against a Draven with a Malphite AP support. And despite all these changes; And despite every single useless support I get in my elo or every time my jungler neglects my lane, I am always to blame.

When I get deleted by the enemy jungler or mage or even the enemy adc, it is always due to my incompetence according to every teammate in the game. I am the garbage. I used to be a great adc, but with all these changes, I am reduced to second rate support who can only sit under turret and get flamed because the moment I step out from under it, I am immediately deleted from the game. And sadly, most of my Rift wins come from doing just that; sitting under my turret and waiting for the other lanes to get an advantage so I can possibly try to get my own.

At this rate, I might as well play an APC bot rather than an ADC because I would be way more use to my teams that way as the "help yourself" mentality is alive and strong. Within the last 10 or so ranked games that I have played, I can average out that my lane(bot) has been ganked on average once per match. Do jungles not care about bottom lane anymore? Do they not care about objectives like drakes anymore? It's like they openly refuse to help bot lane because the moment your CS drops lower than the enemy's and they have you pushed, you're deemed immediate garbage and you can do nothing to help them. At least that has been my experience with it so far if the constant flaming is any indication.

I bet all my stats have been halved since the last time I ranked because of how badly I seem to be doing with the runes, items, and meta all being radically different. I remember being able to actually have decent farm and damage after first back, but now that's like a distant memory.

Could someone please tell me how I'm supposed to adapt to this new League or tell me how you did it?

First and foremost, if you've taken a break from League for longer than a month or two, don't jump back into ranked immediately.

There are going to be changes and updates, and because of this, it's not fair to either you or your teammates to try and play ranked with that much of a skill disparity due to your absence.

This is by no means to say you shouldn't play ranked games. You absolutely should. But at this point because you've been gone, you have not had time or practice to bring your skills back up to par with the people who have been consistently playing while you were gone. Your skills have changed, not diminished. Until you've got a better feel for how certain champions, builds, and metas work, it's going to be frustrating at best for you to play ranked games.

Normals and customs are the way to go. Abuse the practice tool to see if you need to change the way you farm. Read up on preferred items and make sure that they'll still do what you need them to do (Infinity Edge's big change comes to mind here specifically.)

Until then, when you encounter the assholes, just mute, report, breathe, and keep pushing. You can do it.

I have recently switched back to ADC, after a while and am actually happy, i feel its just you need to get used to the changes and you will get better, best of luck!
