I am struggling to play this game

Hi pplz,

I'm coming back to the game after a break. I took a while off because even though I liked the game and was Gold nearing Plat, I couldn't control my anger in the typing wars and I got to seriously questioning whether I might be harming some innocent out there.

Anyways, I'm back with a new account to get to ranked when that starts.

But I can't recognize the game.

For one, my ping is no longer in the 20's range. It's 40's range. And my internet is one of the best and hasn't changed. Twelve server ticks per second is 83 milliseconds per tick. That means basically I have no CONTROL during major fights, when I need to be able to react in time to what others are doing. All I can basically do is plan out a sequence and hope it works before the keys on my keyboard stop responding in real time.

For two, I can't play the game with all these weird champions that seem to never run out of options. To be fair, I haven't tried many of them in depth, but that's not the point. I'm talking about what it's like to play against these Senna, Aphelios, Qiyana, etc. and some of these old champs seem so much more powerful than ever too. I used to look for breaks in the enemy spells and then take my chance. Nowadays its just nonstop and I have no idea how to CONTROL my interactions.

Then there's the game level. A game is well-designed when within the set margin of flexibility, the better team/players/strategy consistently wins out. But let's be honest here. Are we talking one game? Three? FIve? In this present meta I doubt even nine games between pros or semipros could determine who's better. The reason is teamfights are flashy and then they're over, and you don't get the idea that skill was the real reason the fight went successfully for the victor. In fact, you get the impression that planning was ALL there was because once the teamfight starts, the situation is out of CONTROL and decisions made after the first crowd control lands don't actually matter.

Look, I like Lol. I like a lot of games. But if everything in the game just seems to be out of CONTROL, it seems like a completely different beast than the Lol I knew or even the Lol I want to play.

And I get it, there are things I can control. Like CS, like vision, etcetera. But what does that matter when I'm dead in 0.2 seconds, of which my ping spiked for 100 ms?

I am not going to say that it does not feel aweful compared to 20ms, but 40ms does not make that game completely unplayable even at higher levels.

Specifically, I will point out TF Blade plays with 68-70ms. FoggedFTW2 plays with like 41-43ms.

of which my ping spiked for 100 ms?

Ping spikes are the worst though (or even just highly variable ping). Around the end of season 9 and and into early preseason I would consistently have multiple 1000-3000ms ping spikes each game. Fortunately for me it has stopped happening, but it the time span was a few weeks (like 4-5 I think)

Welcome to the league client where they fix nothing. You'll eventually get used to the 40-60 ping jumps.

Atm Aphelios Senna need to be perm banned, if they're not I would recommend dodging. In normals or not. Aphelios you cant even tell what this bastard does in game.

At the moment its BURST 1 shot or BE burst 1 shotted. Gotta learn how to be a complete bitch and be miles away so they waste abilities. Or have a Taric on your team.

Everything is out of control at the moment. We have no balance team, no gameplay design team that has a strict set of rules. Only thing we have is a music, art, and story team. And Skins.

Can't help you there as they dont fix the memory leaks, or the client problems, or their servers.
