I have started playing Ekko recently and I am bothered by Ekko ultimate not being possible to activate while he is CCed. The description of his Ultimate ability clearly says "Ekko turns back time..." so by that logic, him being CCed shouldn't really stop him from using it.

The whole premise behind Ekko's ult is that in order for Ekko to rewind time, he has to manually pull his Z-Drive.
But if he's stunned, he's not able to move, ergo he's not able to manually pull it.

Its just frustrating when you could get a play to win the game of off, by getting that extra bit of HP back, or dropping with your ult on a carry and obliterating him; but get chain CCed and end up doing nothing. And yeah, I am salty that I couldnt or cant ult when it said in ulti that he turns back time.

If it becomes a repeated problem, try taking Cleanse as a summoner spell or buying a QSS.
I'd definitely recommend the former, rather than the latter.

Tryndamere has never made any sense though.
He's probably already in the works for a rework.
Solidair31 votesThis would break clarity rules. Since Ekko's ultimate is a movement ability, it is stopped by roots and being grounded. This is the same for ALL movement abilities in league.
Besides, he might as well be impossible to kill if he can just ult at any time with nothing to stop him.

JinXed4life1 votesNot completely true. When Trist uses her w, it goes through even if she gets stunned as she is casting it. As for your second argument, I believe that is the point of Ekko; jump in, obliterate the backline and get out.
Solidair31 votesBut she can't use her W if she's already rooted. The same goes for Ezreal E and Ekko's ult.
Yes, Ez and Trist can be rooted while casting and still move, but that point is moot for Ekko because he's untargetable during his ult, so that situation would never come up.
