Best Supports- The Real Story..

Ok.. I main support and I have tried everything. So with that being said the whole point of a support is to feed the carry. So my advice for any support pick is DAMAGE. This obviously makes it easy for ADC to pick up kills. Now I know many of you will say CC is a must.. I say its great but DAMAGE is the most important. So with that being said.

Best Supports Are: 1-Gangplank (What Gangplank?!) - FYI- Slow and Can heal Himself For those who have played him you know.. the Q crit is crazy. My advice is building crit runes.,and starting with 2 brawlers gloves and another inexpensive crit item. This will give him around 40%-50% crit around 6-8. (Bye Bye adc)The only downfall to this is you hold off on sightstone until after getting around 40-50% crit (Does not take long)

2-Darius (I know right? Troll?) FYI - Pull and Slow This works well with gold items now. I start with Health Runes and the Defense Tree. I start level 1 with 900 health. Darius has a group pull, and he is very tanky and a lane bully. Darius will pull, Attack, and Ult leaving their ADC open to get finished. (Dont kill steal...)

3-Leblanc (Some of you know this is a thing already)- FYI- Stun This one is easy.. She works best with Jinx, Cait, and Ezreal. She goes in, knocks them down, and the ADC finishes the job. She does have a stun and I do get it off several times. (Dont Kill steal.. )

4-Annie (No one will Disagree with this one)- FYI Stun Annie will melt you and has a stun.. nothing else to say on this one

Just trying to give you guys some ideas. This is what works for me.

I find that high damage supports work really well in bot games, where the bots will just let you attack them without any attempt at retaliation. In real games, though? They usually lose if they don't have/use CC.

This is my thoughts. If you have a Cait and a Janna Vs a Jinx and a Leblanc or darius who do you think will win? Great janna has a knock up and can slow.. but other than that she can not contribute to winning the fight by dishing out enough damage. Cait will fall. Just my Thoughts :)

I can see potential in these, but you have to remember that your support pick normally depends on what the other team is playing. (unless this is blind pick. if so, go for it) But say the enemy team has a lot of CC and you don't, you need to pick some up (i.e. Thresh/Janna) to counter what they have. Damage isn't going to work EVERY time. Sure it can get your own lane fed, but just a fed adc won't always win you the game.

Focusing on damage means you won't do anything late game. You don't have enough gold.

Normally by picking high damage supports and getting the ADC fed, you will gain gold(Assist) and have a fed adc. I think this will make you more useful late game vs a soraka or sona or janna.

Get more reps with true supports if you're a support main. A good Soraka is a GIANT pain in the ass late game. With a good tank in front and Soraka in the back, trying to kill ANYBODY is a trial.

Highly disagree. The whole point of a support is not to feed the carry. It is to enable your teammates to do their jobs better. Yes, feeding your carry is the early priority in most cases (emphasis on most cases; there are times when ADCs are fine running solo). That's far from the only thing you should be doing. Do kill lanes work? Sometimes. Do they always work? No. The reason there's typically a dedicated support is for efficiency. That person generally accepts the responsibility of taking the decreased income and itemizing for the team's benefit instead of individual kill potential. Sightstone/Sweeper make you the primary vision control (the jungler is often a close second). You or the jungler typically are the ones with aura items to augment allied advantages/enemy disadvantages. Depending on the champ you use, you're often the initiator or disengager. A lot of times, you're the death in a sacrifice play.

Focusing on damage often means you're passing up conventional support active items and abilities. Sorry, guys. No heals or shields. If you made a kill lane with a damage-focused support, you're banking on two things: you'll snowball your lane hard so you and your ADC are monsters, and your other three teammates will do fine with minimal support.

I prefer spreading the support advantage to the entire team instead of focusing it all on one person.

My advice for OP is to pick up utility mage supports. I know the feels of having an adc who is next to useless, but Ice Weasel X is right, you're there to compliment your team. I do this by playing Karma Pros: Strong early game poke without building ap Has a point-click time delayed snare that can be used to bait enemies into engaing fights (heals 20% [+1% per 100 ap] max health then another 20% on root) Build ap to increase your utility (shield scales with ap, can be AOE) Can effectively do midlane carry level damage while still offering peel for carries

Velkoz Pros: Another champion that can do heavy dmg without building early ap Can attack through minion waves using w+e Has a multi-target knock up True dmg on 3 stacks combo Can 100-0 a enemy carry with one combo (qwewr)

Lux Similiar to Karma but more mana reliant offers superior CC in the form of a snare, slow E offers vision of bushes Can do significant dmg with level 6 combo (qer[auto]) adc can easily clean up for a kill

Kennen Higher skill cap but resourceless Long range autos, safely harass adc every 4th auto allows a w proc for bonus magic dmg easy double kill at level 6 with a gank

For the first 3 I like to build them as debuffing supports: item 3151 - Max hp shred helps poke down front line item 3116- Coupled with Liandrys boost the % hp shred, offers more peel for your team and makes you a bit tankier item 3092- Same as Rylai, offers more peel ability and increases Liandry shred item 3001- I only build this on kennen, but diving into the enemy team helps shred their MR for your midlaner to put in serious work. item 3504 - I only build this on Lux and Karma, and only when we have a heavy AD comp of auto attackers, makes sieging a breeze. item 2049- First item, every time, unless you get a level 1 quadra-penta. Warding bot side mid laners bush, drake, and then tri makes you ungankable and helps your midlaner from ganks.
