Does MM system keep certain players trapped in a specific MMR?

Just wondering if there is anything in the algorithm causing this. It's frustrating when you constantly lose cause of your teams my match history more or less proves it and I've shown people it and they think it's funny how unlucky I get. Take note of this first exhibit.

Instead of posting one screenshot, post 100 screenshots from consecutive games where you perform well each game. If you can do that, I will bet that you win at least 55 of those games.

No it doesn't. You cherry-picked a game from 4 days ago that showed you with a much high KDA than your teammates. That's not a standard loss in your history. Most of your losses are not examples of you outshining your team.

Should Ezreal in this game feel like you're the reason he's not climbing the ranks? He was 14/8/4 and you were only 4/9/3.

Should Garen and Kha'Zix in this game feel that you're the reason they lost? They were 13/8/4 and 8/7/6 to your 6/10/4.

In this game, everyone on your team except your support ended with more kills than your lane opponents. Is this loss still entirely their fault and not yours?

In this game, you had the highest death count of your entire team, and tied for lowest kill participation with a single kill. Was that your team's fault?

You had the most kills in this game, but you also died the most. 15/13/10. That's a lot of deaths fed to the enemy where you were either baseline or bonus value from a killing spree.

The system isn't trapping you at an MMR. Its goal is to find your MMR. There's nothing about it that intentionally gives you weaker teammates. If you think you're not a factor in these losses, then you're going to find it a lot harder to climb since you're not focusing on improving your shortcomings.

Any single game is luck, but MMR works on strings of games. The only common thread in all your games is you.

ModKnightsKemplar3/6/2015, 9:02:51 PM1 votes

It's both. You have to have a big enough sample size to know what your actual rank is. Keep playing, keep improving, and you will keep advancing. Simple as that.

I added my recent match history. The game where I went 1/10/1 as jinx I played very poorly and I take the blame. The game where I played jinx and went 1/9/0 had a dc mid laner. I didnt play to well but it was another mental blow. Please take the time to look at my teams scores in these games as well.

Yes, they're called "Gatekeepers"

Interesting, the flaming stops when I put up legitimate proof.

For someone who was a "Gold Ahri main" in Season 4. You die way too much, period.

You're playing against Bronze players and are on your way to demotion. Either wake up and prove that you are the better player or keep blaming your team as you sink to the depths of Bronze.

Hard to see how you lost that game. And ironic that Lucian is calling out Poppy.

Im just trying to be objective here...but in most of the games that youve won in the match history screenshot you do very well and in a lot of the matches you lost...you didnt do so well. Seems to me you win when your hot and you lose when youre not, yes it rhymed...enjoy every second of it.DrMundo

You can't keep blaming your teams. Once it's mid-late game your decision can decide the entire match. (Currrently trying to climb out of Bronze. Started Bronze V this season, now in Bronze 2, just won promos.)

Here is my most recent matches literally just finished playing them today. I finally got to a series and then the first game I got camped super hard which shut me down pretty hard which also resulted in a less than stellar play by me. The rengar jungler was horrible as 2 other people in that game agreed. The other loss was single handedly lost due the hecarim. There was a team fight over first dragon happening and he sits mid farming for minutes while the team is contesting dragon. This ultimately led the enemy team to getting 5 kills and the dragon and our team getting 0 kills and nothing. On top of that my lane was the only lane doing well... Anyone sure there isn't something that caps peoples mmr? Both loss results can be found at the top of this post.

And how is this game winnable?

Genet1c03/7/2015, 6:22:42 AM1 votes

Clearly this loss is not at all due to the lux with clarity not mentioning her kda...

Genet1c03/7/2015, 6:26:56 AM1 votes

To prove my jinx capabilities here is a game from a few days ago where I had to 1v2 a bot lane with no support and won. Again this was only winnable cause of a competent team.

In bronze, there is no way to go lower. People AFK all the time. (Just had 4 afk's in a row, 1 game was a double afk), of those 4, 2 games had the same exact player afk. We all reported him, and he just requeued, and afk'd again.

People rage and quit over having their blue taken by mid, people say "it's my time, I can spend it 100% in top lane all game if I want to"

it's a complete mess.

There is no penalty, not recourse... There is no Tin league. So you get teammates that dont bother ...

whats the worse that can happen? there is a limit to the amount they can be penalized...

@ the bottom of b5, people should be forced to win 3 coop vs ai games before they can requeue.

It isn't always your "team" it is also your own decisions. When you lose there was obviously something YOU could have done better to win it. But yes your team has some influence on the outcome of the game but carrying and being able 2 close the game is a skill to learn. Sometimes if I'm super fed ill sole kill 2 of them and make it impossible 2 lose the team fight since it would be 3v5. Stuff like that, pick enemies off and such.

So check out much LP I lost from this 4v5. Leona quit the game before minions ever spawned!

GundayMonday3/6/2015, 8:43:51 PM1 votes

It's both luck and skill. Looks like you got outplayed by a good Yi player this game though.
