Caityln Marksman Changes

DEAR RIOT,

Although Caitlyn did need some changes and I fundamentally agree with her new setup, there is one thing I'd suggest changing back to how it was. I am not impressed with her Q animation. It has significantly altered her "cadence" of play. Previously, the timing gave her a moment to "set up" and fire and it went a long much better for developing a rhythm when in high intensity wave clearing and battles. Also, the animation is very fast and over the top. It was much more bad ass to set up a pointing gesture and fire. I also liked the fact that her Q looked wooden and spun on trajectory. It felt like you were barreling some heavy crap through minions and champs. Now she whips back like a cartoon and looks kind of like Varus. Its just a bit obnoxious to me. Maybe you can do a classic cait skin or something that revers the old animations? please?

Since the trap also does no damage you should consider increasing the range of the headshot. Before you had guaranteed damage and now you often have to hit a skillshot that you are too far away to land every time. Maybe returning the E to its original range would help so you an E in to make the skillshot.

Caits primary attribute is her ability to damage from distance. Jinx has attack speed and two options to do damage. Vayne and Lucian can dash. Need to keep up caits ability to do dmg from afar and also escape with her E to keep her on an even playing field.

Just my two cents.

Cait's Q does have a really awkward animation. I don't like the projectile either. However, her original animation made her Q look like it had a huge cast time. It doesn't feel as long now, which I like.

As for her net, I personally want the knockback range increased because I can't go over certain walls anymore...

Yeah its the awkwardness that gets me, I just got so into my repeated style of play I knew exactly when to hit Q in my gameplay. Now its just so abrupt and the animation just looks kind of overdone. and yeah, the wooden projectile was much more aesthetic and unique. Now its just a basic animation. feels like a downgrade.

her traps do increase her headshot range though ... by like 150 units or more ...

Which is likely far enough, I havnt played her enough to really get a feel for its range. I was having trouble landing the headshot since usually shes so far back from the fighting in the first place. If someone hits the trap you have to find a way to get to them and by the time I do its usually too late. Maybe a slightly longer Headshot timeframe.

Another Cait main here. 355 ranked games season 5. :)

The trap/net gives a 1300 headshot range, which is double normal aa range, which is 650. Feels good.

I don't like the shorter net pushback range. Projectile moves slower, fine. Less damage, fine.

Traps no damage, fine. But man their trigger radius is SMALL now. I can understand why it was shrunk, but I think it was shrunk a little to much.

New sound effect on headshot, nice.

On the whole, I'm quite happy with how it feels more active to play Cait now. This is in line with the new more-active Soraka. :) But I think there are still a few minor tweaks needed. Great job, fellas. :)
