I was thinking, since all the current meta assassins are being "balanced" akali, talon, katarina, kassadin, zed, fizz, this would open a new need for high damage mobile melee assassins? Why not bring back riven, she counters katarina and kassadin, does well against talon akali and zed (not sure about fizz) wouldn't she be a strong counter pick to all the weakened "meta" assassins?
Juggernaut6281 votesFizz probably goes even with her as he can dodge some of her combo, but if riven lands a cc, Fizz takes high damage. It would be all about timing since both of their pokes are their ults.

She does quite well against the others you mentioned, but bad against some popular mids such as Ahri or LB (skill matchup ofc). The reason people don't play her is because she is bad in teamfights (unless ahead) and is meant for splitpushing. It's also hard to assassin someone without flash up. Is it worth leaving your team without any ap??
