I was Silver V on season 7 and when season 8 started I wanted to play some more ranked in my favorite game League of Legends, My MMR was an average Silver V played on season 7 but when season 8 started, I played one game with Fizz and got my MMR to Bronze 4 and then I played some more to get my MMR higher but then it was still Bronze 4. I won 2 times with Zed, Lost 3 times with Fizz, Won 1 time with Yasuo and lost 2, I won with sona one time cause I was autofilled support, Lost one time with Malph. Also there was a lot of smurfs in my ranked games .

MMR is lower than last season unless you are using fresh new account.

For example, people that get challenger in Season 7 and play ranked placements and get 10-0 will get like D1 or Masters in Season 8. They done it so people don't permanently stay at that rank they got last season, they have to earn it again.
