Why i don't get ranks after normal games

I play a lot of normal games all with different characters, but sometimes even if i end a game 10/1 carrying my team and destroying the enemy i don't get not only the S rank, but any rank. It happens to me every 2/3 games

hover over the EXP gain bar and it should show you a letter.
