Ranked matchmaking

I have been playing ranked consistently the past few months to get to gold. Today, I am in silver 1 with about 50 LP. I have climbed from Iron 4 to this point. Today, I went into a Ranked game and got paired with 2 bronze players and someone who has never played ranked. This was while I was on a 3 game win streak. No one in the game was Duo. I checked the history of the bronze players ranked history and they lost the last 3 games and somehow are playing in the silver/goldish MMR. Does this game force match making to disrupt someone's win streak? I lost the game due to improper team fighting and my team mates not knowing mechanics that someone in the division should know. Why would the system do this by "accident" or is this a match making mistake? I really am curious why this is an issue with a game that prides itself on its Ranked system. Does anyone have any input on this?

Thanks.

Not an accident, it doesn’t make mistakes, it just doesn’t like letting people have streaks, except losses I guess.

Whenever you say to yourself "why do I have X ranks in my game?" Understand that the ranks are essentially meaningless and all the matters is MMR. A stupidly hidden number the is your real rank. The tiers are just meant to make people feel like theyre progressing

So do you think the mmr system should be for your entire Ranked history or should it be more welcoming to adjustment every few seasons? I have played since season 2 and multiple other seasons. I was previously gold and am near climbing back to it now from iron this season. The system is pulling me down no matter how good I play and how far I go up.

Not disputing your point, I know its the case, but just want to say it's BS that rewards and visuals and everything is based on RANK but actual matches are based on MMR. I don't give a crap about the Aatrox skin, but if anyone is chasing that it's ridiculous that they have to play above their level due to MMR but not get "credit" for it.

The unranked is because every new account is, by default, MMR in the center of the curve. This is for general balance reasons, because otherwise the MMR values at ranks would shift over time.

The Thresh (one of the Bronze 1 teammates) was Silver last season. His MMR is likely higher than his rank because of that.

Ornn (the other Bronze 1 teammate) has fairly few ranked games, so his MMR is still adjusting.

And...Your MMR puts you around Bronze 2. The game thinks you belong below your actual rank (and your ranked winrate - 47.7% over 411 games - makes me inclined to agree). (E: I just read how you climbed up from Iron 2. It's likely your MMR is still adjusting to this sudden spike).

It looks fucky, but it makes sense once you look into the details.

I dont know why you're downvoted what you said seems correct. People dont understand the MMR system and fixate on the tiers lol. I really wish we'd go back to numbers

So you're telling me even though I have climbed out of bronze to silver during multiple seasons and the fact I am Silver 1 now after climbing from iron during the course of a ridiculous 411 games that Riot still can not get my MMR right? This includes the fact that I was gold a season also. You're telling me the system is doing it's job by putting me a good bit below where I have climb past multiple seasons over and over?

You went from gold to Iron 2. That's probably why it's all kinds of fucked up.

Like...that's a damn hefty drop. No wonder the system is shitting the bed.

Now, granted, I have no idea what your actual MMR is. All I have is what LoG says your average enemy rating is. It could be that your MMR is where it should be, but as Riot keeps it hidden...

Iron after winning 8 of 10 placement matches too. I have no idea why I was placed so low after such a high elo and winning nearly all my placements. It literally does not make sense. I just want this account back to where it was and to stay there without me having to climb back up every season. I do not want to make another account to just have gold and basically get rid of my account with the last 8 years on it. It makes no sense. Riot should at least offer some sort of MMR cleanse if someone is consistently performing higher than their hidden mmr. With their history also showing that the have performed at least "Gold" in the past and nearly climb back up to it every season I play. The system seems like it does not work over a long duration(multiple seasons) but only over short of time. Like someone could practice in normals, get to the skill level of gold but no matter what, the hidden mmr will make it way harder to climb since it assumes you are the ranked regardless of your current skill level. If I can climb to gold and am consistently climbing at this point it should adjust. Not just keep pulling me down no matter what.

Where the fuck did you end last season?

Like...what the fuck? Bronze 5 0 LP? I can't think of anything that'd give that terrible of placements.

I ended high bronze 2 in season 6. That was the most recent one I played because I got sick of climbing with no reward and just being pulled down. I was gold 5, season 3 and then it threw me down to bronze the next season I played after winning 6/10 games. I have honestly thought about contacting Riot. I have played league of legends forever and I have grown in skill but no matter what, my mmr over the past seasons has weighed me down even tho I never performed terrible and was able to climb consistently.

Also when I say pulling down, I mean I lose 30 LP if I lose and only like 18 LP if I win. This has gone on the whole season from when I reached Silver.

You can use this to calculate MMR.

50% semi-forced Win Rate. That's all, you can notice it in everyone's match history or just by following streamers on Twitch. Ridiculously easy games and impossible ones are the rule, and so it's not by accident. Why? Grinding (= playing more).

Still, they keep denying it :)
