Why Remove TeamBuilder?

Just curious why when Dynamic Queue was released, you all decided to get rid of team builder. It was a very good game mode to try out new champions against actual people, and not against bots. It's really annoying when you buy a new champ and wana try the, out, and they get banned, or picked by someone else. Why not bring teambuilder back for normals? It wouldn't hurt anyone. Just a nice way to train a certain champ in a certain role. it would allow people to become more professional with their champions and mechanically more sound. I just dont wana fight bots to learn a champion or risk not playing them :c.

When the new champion select was released, it basically did everything that Team Builder could possibly want. It had shorter queue times, bans that let you not play against the most OP champions in a given patch, guaranteed a role for the champion you wanted to play, and let you pick a different champion if your team had a comp that would fit another champion better or if your opponent picked a counter to the champion you wanted to play.

I remember playing Team Builder so much while it was out, and found that the new champ select did everything I wanted with Team Builder, but better.

Oh, and dynamic queue and the new champion select are completely different things. One is the queue system that everyone hates and the other is the improved way to set up the game.

One is a term the community rejected the definition of, and the other was a singular component of the aforementioned term.

Your statement of "everything that Team Builder could possibly want" seemed to be the line of reasoning that Riot gave when they made the initial announcement. However, I disagree with the accuracy and/or relevance of all the items on your list (comparing current normal draft with Team Builder):

Shorter queue times - debatable, Riot could provide some numbers if they wanted to settle this debate.
Bans - accurate, but sometimes counter to what I wanted from Team Builder, such as when I was trying to play said champ to learn to play as them, which helps play against.
Guaranteed a role - false, you must select two roles unless you have a full team of 5. This has been an issue for me sometimes when I want to try something new and then get assigned to the other lane. I have to either dodge (driving up queue times for 9 other people and putting myself on a 5+ minute delay to get back to the queue) or play a (20+ minute) game in a position I don't want.
Let you pick a different champion - sometimes, but only if the rest of the team is showing pick intent or you are later in the pick order. Also, when playing Team Builder, I often had a particular champion in mind and would just find another group if I had the time and the group looked like a bad fit for my champ.

When I don't have a specific champion in mind to learn/practice, new champ select in normal draft is probably better than Team Builder.

By "guarantee a role for the champion you wanted to play", I mean "you pick two roles your champion can be played in", not "you guarantee the one role you want to practice your champion in". Most champions can be picked in at least two different roles, and even if they don't have a good second role they can usually get by in at least one other role with some success.

I believe the removal of team builder is connected to the lack of players overall in the game mode and in particular the lack of support players in team builder.

True, there were so many toplaners and midfielders...you had to wait at least 10 minutes for a decent support - some trollers even picked Lucian support just so they wouldn't wait long...ffs

well team builder IS the place to try all the troll picks and all the troll compositions so the word "trollers" really does not fit here.

It was due to lack of players in that mode also there were barely any support mains in that role.

Waves Hello Im a support main btw.

Thing is I played support in the other modes since nobody wanted that role anyway but if i wanted to play a meta champion in any role that isn't support I would normally wait 10 minutes to even 30 minutes one time just to get a support and find another team that has a full team.

Sometimes i do miss this mode but... i have to suck up the pain of not getting other roles in blind pick since some people are aholes who just instalock their champion to a lane/role when you already called it first -_-.
