Unbalance In League of Legends

I recently took a break from most of league of legends and when I came back I've been surprised with what feels like a very unbalanced game. It seems like there's way to much of a champion specificity within the meta (aka very limited on what you can and can't choose for viability) and I get there will always be unbalanced champs and Under powered champions but I feel like it has gone to the extreme. A game should encourage people to try new things but its punished heavily with the meta champions. Another thing that bothers me is the unnecessary updates that change things that don't need changing. For instance, mage update was unneeded and instead just change specific things about certain champs rather than an overhaul into many mages. I haven't done all the research and still don't know everything but I'm just very unhappy with the current state of league and want to hear other opinions and if there is something in the new meta i'm missing out on. Anyways that's just my thoughts on league right now. Any great discussion is appreciated

EDIT: Here i'm just gonna list a few things on my mind when it comes to balance, one of the main things i feel is kled being a confusing character and having some broken things with the interaction with his partner. Skaarl seems way to overpowered because of how he can regenerate over half of Kled's hp during a fight which can be a game changer and happens way to often in my opinion

a few seasons ago people still complained about things being unbalanced on one side or another its just very hard to balance every champ equally since there are champs that scale harder early and some late so to make everyone equal is very hard

Depends on the elo level. Diamond 3+? Yes meta is preferable. Plat and lower? As long as you play the champion properly you can play whatever you want in whatever fashion. Go look up a guy named Raigarak, because he knows the champions so well and knows the roles so well he can play super stupid picks as much as he wants.

I like this game, but sometimes it really makes me salty at champs that take too much damage, or deal too much damage. Maybe I suck, but the only way to have fun in this game is to dominate. If everything was more balanced, I feel like the game would be so much more enjoyable for every party included. COUGHCOUGHKled COUGHCOUGH

if we ignoreKled . its not THAT bad.

i think its the first time all season where i have got to CHOOSE which champ i want to ban (aka not want to face because it would be bad for our team comp).. instead of having to ban the OP champ because w/e team gets it first auto wins.

Kled seriously has the most overloaded kit with the highest base values and ratios i have ever seen.

as soon as people learn how to play him i would be surprised to see his winrate below 60%
