Ideas to Buff Items that are rarely bought

In League there is a certain circle of items that we barely spend gold on. You know of them, because you see them as you look through the store, but they almost never cross your mind compared to other item strategies. I'm here to share my thoughts and hopefully obtain constructive criticism on my ideas for the following items.

item 1300item 1320 The Furor Enchantment When it comes to boots enchantment, Homeguard is always picked. Then, Alacrity. The other two I'll talk about below. Furor is basically Phage's movespeed buff without all the other awesome stats that Phage and it's final item path has. So, I thought a way to make this boot enchantment good would be to make the movespeed passive stack. Of course, a finite number of stacks, like 3 would be a good way to balance it out. But doing it like so would make it a more viable pick for chasers and kite champs.

item 1312item 1317item 1332 The Captain Enchantment _The captain's enchantment is in an even worse position. Almost no one buys it. The only ones they are practical on are champions who engange and already have amazing mobility. A good idea to buff this enchantment are as follows:

  1. Make it a stacking aura so other champions can buy the item so it creates teamwide mega mobility.
  2. Make it so the movespeed buff is available regardless of whether you are walking towards the champion or not. This item has a lot of potential and I'd love to see it buffed for what it should be._

item 1308item 1328 The Distortion Enchantment This item is almost useless. All the other items are far more gold efficient unless two of your summoner spells are the ones listed in the passive. And even then the other items are still bought over it. The problem is that it only works in very decided situations. Say Hecarim, for example, but you'd be better off buying homeguard or alacrity. The bonuses need a buff. Maybe 25% off the summoner spell times. Maybe increase the bonus duration. Maybe rework it so it's like smite with it's summoner spell buffs. I don't have an exact idea but something really needs to be done.

item 3060 Banner of Command Moving on from the boots enchantment (I wanted them out of the way first) Banner of Command is a very on the bench item. It's been seeing some play in ranked now on supports for split pushing but I think the older version which allowed minion buffs was better. If you make it more minion focused, it could be a much more split push specific item. Bringing back the old minion buff aura or making it so that even Super Minions could be activated on would be an amazing upgrade to this item. But for now, Legion will forever remain better.

item 3056 Ohmwrecker Now Riot, I know you've tried to buff this in the past, but it still doesn't sit right with a lot of us. It has no real purpose other than anti tower attacks for divers but it's a waste of gold compared to other items. Honestly, if you made this a true anti turret item and made it have something similar to the Rite of Ruin passive from BMB, making it easier to destroy towers it would be more viable than it is now. If anything, give it a passive which makes nearby minions take less damage from towers and add it to the split push builds.

item 3222 Mikael's Crucible This item is pretty fine, but only really efficient on HP heavy champion supports with mana, so like, Braum. A good way to fix this would be to make the heal scale off mana or ability power as well. Therefor it would be far more wanted by the supports of bot lane.

item 3139 Mercurial Scimitar Now, this item is definitely useful, but only as a counter so anyone with suppression. That's it. Perhaps give it a passive that's somewhat similar to banshee's veil, but involving stacks? Maybe for every basic attack you gain a stack and at 20 stacks you dodge the next ability? I don't know, but add something to make it a more viable option. Same with Quicksilver Sash.

item 3004 item 3042 Manamune/Muramana _This item(s) is barely a viable choice on any champion, especially with the addition of Essence Reaver. I would suggest two different things.

  1. Make it so it drains mana of enemy champions on hit. An anti-mana item would an amazing addition due to all the mana items.
  2. Perhaps once you reach Muramana you could change the active to make it more like titanic, where it'd buff the next attack and has a somewhat short cooldown. Maybe even the next hit deals damage based on the enemy's current mana! Some food for thought._

item 3124 Guinsoo's Rageblade I saw that you recently changed this item in the PBE, and it got me thinking. The infinite stacking would have been ridiculous, but it made me think. Perhaps instead of the current passive, maybe making the AP stacking be % instead of flat stacks? 32% extra AP would indeed be a far more viable item to build. Or even add an bit of AD into that passive. For an AD and AP built item it's far more focused on the AP side of things.

That's all I've got for now. I would appreciate any ideas you guys have, and any thought from Riot as well. Thank's for reading!

Both the Scimitar and Muramana are completely fine.

Essence Reaver is the one that needs buffs.

The others are mehhh....

I actually buy Captain boots quite a lot on tanks. It stacks with Path of Iron from the Elixir and it's amazing on champions with hard engage like Malphite or Sejuani.

Boot enchant could possibly be solved by just making homeguard innate to the base (could be too strong, but who knows.)

Most items listed are niche items and are in a good spot Manamune - Mana damage is a toxic mechanic. Making it drain mana on hit would screw over champions that don't build mana harder than it would those that do build mana. Doing damage based on enemy mana is also a bad mechanic (Veigar suffers from this too, you shouldn't be punished for building items that synergize with your champion.)
