JUST AN IDEA: wards that grant additional buffs to near by champions

so i tend to play A LOT of support. like a lot. one of the first things i race to in game is getting that sightstone for my team. who doesn't want vision? but what if RIOT made wards that granted additional buffs? like wards that gave near by champions additional AP, Defense, Attack, health, etc.? or possibly even slowed enemy teams by taking away some of their movement speed?...of course they would have to be within a certain radius of the ward to be granted such abilities. i don't know how many times i have been put in a situation where i ward a bush...and of course, a freaking gank on bot lane! lol imagine how that would change the game... early game could change so much... it may be a "broken" idea, but this could help every role played in league.

i would also like to see Ruby sightstone changed a bit. in my opinion 90% of the time (maybe 95% of the time) i never upgrade to ruby sightstone...because it is worthless. maybe if they gave ruby sightstone one of these abilities, it would see more play. most of the time ruby sightstone (if it is upgraded) is last priority...so its rework would have to be significant enough to bring it earlier in game. if this could be an item on its own (and not a rework of sightstone), i think it should be introduced early game (to change the pace), and then "fall off" later in the game.

just a thought. :) any feedback?

Sounds like something you could only tie to a unique item. These wouldn't be slot-efficient late-game.

I think tie it right to ruby sightstone, maybe give the sightstone a few different build paths to give it more variation?

definitely! that's exactly what i was thinking! some argue that this would misconstrue with actual ward placement... to illustrate, wards are used for vision...now that they "have other abilities", would they only be used in other advantageous situations?

I think this sounds like a great champion idea, actually! Kind of like a map-control Sona, their abilities could drop totems that buff nearby champions! These totems could behave like other companions (Heim's turrets, Zyra's plants), being targetable and dying in a few hits. If you're familiar with Shaman classes in countless MMO's, you know what I'm talking about.

i thought of that too! :) even something that could affect the minions defense or attack speed to push waves faster (get cs faster than the enemy). i think something like this could affect the pace of early game. this could be a really good idea if done right.

I think we should keep it simple and use this as a fix to Ruby sightstone. passive: all stealth wards placed by the owner of RSS grant +x health per 5 to all allies within 1000 range.

i know what you mean by "keeping it simple", but most of the time ruby sightstone (if it is upgraded) is last priority...so its rework would have to be significant enough to bring it earlier in game. honestly, i think something like this should be introduced early game (to change the pace), and then "fall off" later in the game.

agreed, but it could change early game tremendously. honestly this "new idea" doesn't even have to be a ward, it could be a completely different item. something that is limited in quantity to each player and time aloud on the map shorted... maybe to even to just seconds? just a thought...
