need help learning to play the game

so i'm Gold 4, not good at all to most people but hey i made it this far, i have a decent champion pool, i'm decent with all the champs i play and getting better with every game, but i don't understand how this game works, i don't understand what calls to make or follow in certain situations, i don't understand what to do against certain tactics. i need help figuring out this game, my cs is decent and my mechanics are well enough to make plays when were ahead and sometimes behind, when my lane isn't doing good i play safe, save snares/stuns for ganks and protecting the adc, when the lane is doing good i poke when i can, take free trades when the enemy adc goes for cs and ward when i can and ward deep when facing a kahzix or someone with high mobility/stealth. but after getting the first t1 turret, then helping the other lanes get thier's, beyond that i have no idea what to do other than stick with the team ward objectives and protect the squishies.. there is of course obvious stuff like if the enemy jungler is dead or 2-3 people are dead should be a free baron. i still have a lot to learn and improve on but i believe my lack of game knowledge is the reason i'm still in gold 4, so if anyone is able to give any links to a vid, or coach me on what to do, how to do it, and how to position and get ready for it. that would be beyond amazing please. cuz all i got is what iv'e listed, ward when able to, stick with the team and play safe if behind. remember gold 4, whats obvious to you may not be to me, so be kind.
