In the past we heard about Diana and Akali reworks being in progress. Can we get an update?
I just want to know if the progress is going well. I heard that they are not included in the mage reworks so I wonder if there are other plans for them.

Akali had some changes being tested, but they were ice boxed until they get to the assassin group update which probably won't even be this year, and if it is it would be at the end of the year.
Diana as far as I know has not had significant work, and beyond that she has terrible identity issues. Is she an assassin? A fighter? I've seen separate champ designers give separate opinions on the matter and riot doesn't even know what she is/should be. I think Diana will need a deeper rework, and there are other champions who need it way worse than her, so I wouldn't expect it any time soon.
Riot Gaussrik (Gameplay Expert from LAS/LAN) told me that my precious Akali's kit is already finished (but not tested in PBE yet so not final version), I don't know how advanced her visual update is right now, that's the sad part.

Also the reason Diana is so powerful is because the counter picks for Diana are never picked. Oriana or swain hard counter her

I'd like to see Diana become the class-defining AP bruiser. She's way too bursty and assassin-like for a fighter/mage with no escapes. Of course, with Taric, Yorick, and the whole mage rework taking up the next half year or more, I don't think we'll see whatever work might be done on her OR Akali any time soon.
Please God don't update Diana. She is my bae and is perfect where she is.
To those saying Diana is too tanky to be an assassin. She's like the only assassin that doesn't have a "get out of there" trick/ability etc; Once your in the enemy stack or flanking the carries with Diana your basically stuck in there. Zhonyas was such an important item on her but the ridiculous price of it and the nerf it got to ap/armor really hurt her. Just a few months ago this board was full of "nerf Diana" threAds. But you don't see them anymore because she's not as popular as she was due to the changes
I think they should switch Diana's E and Ult, but tone down Lunar Rush a little (less damage or something), and increase the range + add damage on Moonfall. That way she wouldn't have such an intense power spike, but still keep her identity. Akali is honestly pretty okay right now, she is still really clunky but better than she was in s5. They said she's getting a VU and a small gameplay update after Yorick, Taric, and the mage updates.
Why would Diana get a rework... she's fine right now and is in solid state. I guess maybe lore update? I don't know I think she's fine :/
IMO Akali and Diana are in perfectly fine states right now (EXCEPT FOR YOUR GODDAMN E AKALI)
I wouldn't know why they'd want to rework them; the only probably "rework" they could give to either one would be to change Akali's E because it absolutely does not fit in her kit, whatsoever.
