Kennen rework idea?

Just a write up of a proposed Kennen rework. Just some thoughts, nothing much, just my two cents. Anyway, read on!Kennen

Passive: Mark of the Storm: Kennen’s abilities mark enemies hit with Mark of the Storm, which lasts for six seconds and can stack up to three times. Upon reaching three stacks the stacks will be consumed to stun the target and deal 50 bonus Magic Damage.

Primary: Thundering Shuriken: (Passive) Every fourth basic attack deals 10/20/30/40/50 bonus Magic Damage, plus 40%/50%/60%/70%/80% of his Attack Damage. (Active) Kennen throws a charged shuriken in target direction, dealing 70/110/150/190/230 (60% Ability Power)(40% Attack Damage) Magic Damage to the first enemy hit. If Thundering Shuriken consumes Mark of the Storm than Kennen gains 50 Energy. (Range: 1000. Cost: 60/55/50/45/40 Energy. Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6 seconds.)

Secondary: Lightning Rush: (Active) Kennen transforms into a ball of electricity, ignoring unit collision and gaining 60%/80%/100%/120%/140% bonus Movement Speed for 2.5 seconds, as well as being untargetable for the first 0.5 seconds. During this time Kennen sends out electrical bolts to nearby enemy champions, dealing 70/110/150/190/230 (50% Ability Power) Magic Damage to them. Lightning Rush can be canceled to instantly end the effect. (Cost: 85 Energy. Cooldown: 14/12/10/8/6 seconds.)

Tertiary: Electrical Surge: (Active) Kennen electrocutes all enemies afflicted by Mark of the Storm dealing 70/95/125/160/200 (50% Ability Power) Magic Damage to them, as well as striking up to three targets near them to deal 75% of the full damage. (Range: 850. Cost: 45 Energy. Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6 seconds.)

Ultimate: Slicing Maelstrom: (Active) Kennen summons an electrical storm around him for 3.5 seconds, which zaps random enemy champions every 0.75/0.5/0.25 seconds, dealing 80/140/200 (50% Ability Power) Magic Damage to them. Enemies cannot be hit more than three times each. During this time Kennen gains 10/20/30 bonus Armor and Magic Resistance. (Range: 500. Cooldown: 120/100/80 seconds.)

I like this, actually.

Not that I'm well-versed with playing Kennen, but it really seems to solidify him as a DPS mage without overhauling him too much. Moving his secondary passive to his Q probably also helps him a lot, and the change to his W gives him a bit more slipperyness- which is pretty close to his character.

I like it.

While this seems like a nice buff I don't really think he needs a rework. His kit is pretty solid. A visual update on the other hand? Oh god yes please.

Electrical Surge, being a multi-target skill in its first use, should not also bounce to other targets. I would rather see something like units near the Surged target get one more mark of storm added to them, but no damage. I was thinking that multiple units with mark on, grouped together, will take 175% damage from the skill. If that isn't the case, the skill is fine.

Lightning rush losing it's energy return component seems meh - especially on Kennen who is already hungry for energy.

I still think Kennen need better energy return components, because out of everyone using energy I'm pretty sure Kennen (and NOT Zed) has the worst energy return mechanic. The current version doesn't return nearly enough for what energy he is using. With this issue at hand, I don't see Kennen as a DPS mage, because he runs out of resource too easily.

Another thing is the higher CD on Shurikens and the nerf to AP ratio - is this to accommodate the higher potency of his other skills?

Hmm, interesting thoughts. I'll be opening a new forum post, under a different name where I will post rework ideas once a day, hopefully getting through all the champs. Thanks for the all the feedback, and by the way, I've only played Kennen, what, four times?
