Duoing in Ranked Results in Worse Teammates and Better Enemies

This is purely anecdotal, but it very much seems like any time I duo the scales are tipped against me with matchmaking. Going to be tracking duo vs solo win rates over the coming weeks and updating this post. Seems to be on any account I have across a variety of ranks.

Very unfortunate this seems to be the case. My friends and I usually just sit in discord and talk to each while playing solo queue games (even though we are around same ranks as each other, within 1-2 divisions). Riot seems to not want ppl to play together.

I don't know what it is called but that is an actual thing. Riot punishes the duo's by matching you with players of a slightly higher MMR, and yourself with players of slightly lower as a way to hehe BALANCE the fact that you dared to want to play the game with your friend.

mine is literally the opposite wtf? My friend is silver 2 and i was gold 2 and the enemy players compared to when i play solo play literally almost as bad as intermediate bots. I am not exaggerating. Whenever I play, the chances of me getting a normal team, not even a good team, just a normal one is the same chance as winning the superbowl fucking lottery

It used to be. There was a post years back about how they were discontinuing the MMR penalty for duos in ranked. Don't know if it was ever a thing in norms.
