Sorry for the big weird image. I don't know how to delete it :c.

I've analyzed my games on summoners rift for the past 2-3 years (Normal draft + Ranked Soloq and Flex). Turns out I'm the Red sided kinda guy. Does anyone have explanation for this? I play more than 11 out of 20 games on the red side. I almost never dodge. Nor have I ever considered any side to be worse or better. My Stats:

Play side: RED: 1291 BLUE: 1005

Wins on each side: RED: 776 BLUE: 523

Side preference: RED: 56.228% BLUE: 43.772%

Winrate on the side: RED: 60.108% BLUE: 52.040%

Overall winrate: 56.577%

I heard about Blue side having 4% more winrate, but for me and some of my friends which I also analyzed it isn't true. Also I played with different people throughout these years, so they can't be offecting me that much. May be to some degree, but I also checked time intervals, it's pretty consistent. And... Well.. 2300 games is not a small dataset to state that 12.5% difference is just a margin error..

Queue types:

NORMAL_DRAFT: 1141 RANKED_SOLO_DUO: 675 RANKED_FLEX: 458 NORMAL_BLIND: 22

Winrate is a weird thing. But at least I know that both sides aren't equal. You can argue that one side gets more wins if played in full premade. Playing mostly on the red-side thing isn't as plain though. I doublechecked the data. It really is so.

Not everybody whom I checked were "Red-sided" though. All of my friends that are plat and higher are more red-sided, while my silver-gold friends are about equal or with a little skew in Blue direction. So it might be affected by MMR. But I haven't checked many people, since it takes some time to be fetched from RIOT's api. Also, wouldn't expect such a winrate difference since it can be abused in climbing. My only-ranked stats are about the same.

Do you play more flex than solo? Looks like the game is balanced to be even with a slight edge to blue side for solo/duo which ends up pusing flex in favor of red side.

I can imagine a few possible explanations for the win-rate, but that's purely speculation, nothing certain.

However, I'm totally stumped on the "pick-rate". I see absolutely no reason that it should be so unequal....

Small update, Turns out Riots tweaked something about side winrate difference around december 15th. Source: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/obERLZ8Z-quick-lol-thoughts-january-17

They buffed red side aparently. So I checked the data since december 15th and... my stats became even more ridiculous. Now, to be clear, that's not a lot of games to make any assumptions, but never the less, i'm curious about the reasoning of it all. Screw with the winrate. Why am I so Red-sided? :D

Stats:

Play side: RED: 258 BLUE: 190

Wins on each side: RED: 174 BLUE: 100

Side preference: RED: 57.589% BLUE: 42.411%

Winrate on the side: RED: 67.442% BLUE: 52.632%
