so im relatively new to this game. i want to know why am i consistently getting matched against and with players who all have easily won over 500 games, whereas i only have like 50 wins. its seems like every game is a frustrating mess for me. i thought the teams were supposed to be balanced.
Dolasaur1 votesMatchmaking does its best to ensure both teams having an equal chance of winning. Not all people have the same rate of learning and skill acquisition. So it's quite possible that, at 50 wins, you have the same overall skill level as the people with 500 wins.
The components of the skill level don't have to be equal. For example, what you lack in experience (memorizing every champion's ability set) you may make up for with greater personal responsibility (learning from your mistakes rather than blaming people) or general good gaming habits (being nice to your teammates, not rage quitting). Also, since you're not playing ranked (presumably), note that many people who do play ranked will use normal games as a place to try new things or have fun without focusing as much. (Some are even toxic and insult you for trying your best :/)
Unless you are in the very very bottom or very very top, you have a pretty close to 50% chance to win every game. (Somewhere between 45 and 55 for almost every game you ever play outside of placement games.) So if the other 9 people in your game have 500 wins, take that as a compliment that you're already at their level.
