Can we please get that Feature from One For All and Hexakill with the ring around your champion??

Magnus Sforzando··54 votes·2,601 views

I would like to request getting a feature like the one in One For All, Or the Hexakill game modes in which there is a white ring under your champion indicating which one you are, In the regular and ranked game modes. It really helped me to keep track of my champion in those game modes, and I have a hard time keeping track of myself when there is a lot going on in regular game modes, especially during team fights, and i feel like the inclusion of this feature would really help my game play, and potentially other players as well. If you could make this a toggle feature that would be great because I'm sure not everyone would want to use it, and some of would find it very helpful. Please Riot look into adding this feature into all of the game modes.

I agree! I'd love this feature

That's a skill you need to develop. SItuational awareness and the ability to keep track of yourself are very important skills that must be honed. The reason it was in those modes is because first off, they were casual fun modes, and second off, in the case of one for all everyone could potentially look EXACTLY the same, so it had reason there. As for hexakill, one could argue that since there were two more people it was needed, but it really wasn't IMO.

Hey, I hate to be a stickler for grammar, but you misspelled "I'm an elitist asshole who hates fun." It's an easy mistake to make though x)

What? I don't hate fun, I just don't like things that make the game easier for no reason.

Some people really enjoy the game but find it too challenging to play, and features like this could help them to play better, which makes the game more fun. As a bonus if they're playing better then they can avoid the insanely toxic people that get pissed at anyone who makes a mistake, which would make the game even more fun. If you don't like things that make the game easier for no reason, don't use the feature =)

And you are entirely ignoring the impact any change has on ranked play.

Want to hear a secret? Literally every patch ever (and there has been a lot) has made changes to the game. Mind=Blown. There has been huge changes before, people adjust (woah, crazy thought right?) Something as small as adding an indicator to show where you are is nothing game breaking.

There have been very limited changes in the grand scheme of things that straight up make the game easier without anything to counterbalance it. This would be one of them.

What about the time they added in the baron and dragon timers?

I said limited. That's one change. And I was VERY opposed to those as well. Half the playerbase was cheating it as it was, so I get why they did it. Still don't agree per se with it being there.

You get a different colored health bar. That's supposed to help a bit.

Sinlaire2 votes

hold space bar and look for the green health in the middle. that's usually the best method.

oh. and if you're playing shyvana. ult and look for the fire breathing dragon.

whatever helps really.

This is something heroes of the storm already has, the ring around the feet of your hero in HoTs also serves as a hit-box indicator for your character.

I can dig it.

To be honest, I don't even think this is something that affects balance whatsoever. It has no effect on numbers or abilities whatsoever. IT has absolutely no effect on champions or anything on the the map. It changes literally nothing about how the game is played. The only thing it would change is MAYBE improve the performance of the player. As far as I and anyone else should be concerned, that's a one hundred percent positive thing. It just something to help me and other players focus. If you don't have a problem with it, you do not have to use the feature. But as far as I can tell there's no reason to be against it.

The reason to be against it is because it can remove a core skill of the game. Imagine if in baseball you knew exactly where the pitch was going to be before it was thrown. Yea everyone would use it, but it removes an important part of the game, which can drastically shake up high level play.

Honestly I feel like you're opposing things just to oppose things. It's not removing anything. It's not taking away a players ability to make decisions, or removing lack of situational awareness. It's simply helping people who have trouble focusing when there is a lot going on. In What way will it shake up high level play?? It might enhance a players ability to keep track of themselves., which MAY make them play better, which Would simply just make the game more fun and challenging for everyone involved.

I'll be blunt since it's the only way to get my point across. If you can't keep track of your champ you deserve to struggle with it. Throwing people a pity card because that suck at a skill is laughable. Sorry, competitive balance comes FAR before fun.

Magnus Sforzando1 votes

I'll be blunt since it's the only way to get my point across. With an attitude like that, you shouldn't even be here. This feature literally has nothing to do with balance, It honestly sounds like you're just upset if people can keep track better, that you might start losing more than you already do.

No, that very skill of being able to keep track of yourself makes people who cant do it lose teamfights.

Essentially what I'm hearing is, let bad players stay bad. When they're not even bad, they just have trouble focusing because there is a lot going on. Cool story bro, I'm glad you have such a supportive positive attitude.

No, It's let players bad at something fix it for themselves rather than giving them a free pass on it.

It's literally a graphical update. The new placements make things look better and more clean. The hud and the circles are two entirely different things. If you want to view it as "making it easier" it's just because that means the old design was flawed, and are fixing a core gameplay element that was supposedly broken.

ok so if they add in a white circle around your champ that will mean the old design was flawed

No, because that's not a "design". That's a new feature. The hud is a core gameplay element you can't just get rid of, so you need to improve it over the time as you change the rest of the game.
