Off Meta

Okay so I've been playing games recently, and people have started to go off Meta. It usually goes something like this:

person1: JG Person1: Chooses Nasus Person2: Please don't go Nasus Jungle Person1: Trust me, it works

  • Gets into the game - Person2: I need a gank Person1: Comes in for gank and dies Person1: Wow you noob, stop feeding your lane

Just a question, why would you go Off Meta bullshit if you have never tried it before, and don't know that it will work. If you're going to do this Off Meta shit that makes people lose games that they are trying so hard to win,** try it out in bots or on the PBE**, because in a game that someone is trying to win is not the place, because you are literally just ruining the game for everyone else. So just a quick shout out to those of you who like to do this off meta shit in games, Stop.

Edit: BTW I know most of you people who like to try out Off Meta shit in games are watching youtubers do it. Well guess what, they're testing it out to see if it will work and they're most likely in a group with people who are okay with it, not strangers.

tl;dr Stop going Off meta Bullshit you don't know will work, if you've never tried it before.

I just had to support a heimer that wanted to go adc. There was no hope whatsoever haha

It ticks me aswell when people go off meta stuff or things that only work against bots. I can understand trying a new champion but playing it in a role not fit is a different story

Ranked? Definitely not until lots of testing.

Normals? Probably okay if you're going for something that makes sense, since normals is a place to experiment with off-builds and whatnot in an actual game setting. It's still a game, a competitive one at that, and practicing off-builds (like AP bruiser tank junglers, for instance) isn't the end of the world.

Going full AD Sona jungle first-time without warning your teammates is a whole other can of worms, just to beat anyone who was going to throw an anecdote at me or something. I know what you guys are talking about, and I think I covered enough ground fairly.

The problem with the word META is its used wrong.. because in all seriousness, more than half the champions we use in their respected roles aren't used in LCS which determines the META.

an example of this is, Yi jungle, Strong in solo Q, not considered off meta, but NO ONE PLAYS YI JUNGLE IN LCS.

There are 3 types of picks

-Meta aka LCS -Solo Q aka what 99.9% of us play -Troll aka Nasus jungle.

IDC if it works, the problem is its inferior to just about every acceptable Solo Q/Meta pick. Even if you win with it, doesn't make it good. I could jungle fucking Zyra and have a decent clear, but that doesn't make it good.

Everything else is fine except that part.

Person2 should keep in mind that his jg is a late game champ that has little ganking potential early on. Person1 should figure that ganking at that point isn't going to bring out good results and refrain from doing so. Person1 shouldn't express himself in a negative way, plus nothing shows the laner has been feeding.
