My thoughts on new fiora

I was never a fiora main but I played her quite a lot over t he last few years. I decided to give her new rework a shot. I played her in a bot game to get the feel of her and then in 3 normal games.

Lets start with her lane phase. I feel like this is quite strong and stronger then her previous state. Its most importantly a lot of fun. As others said its really a feeling like your dueling the champion and RIOT captured this quite well. You look for marks from you passive and try to exploit them for some quick burst damage followed by your E. The use of riposite is a lot of fun now as well. You can block any spell with it from a darius ult to an auto attack so timing this is essential and adds to her dueling nature

Moving on to team fights. Before if I was 4-1 on fiora with good cs my ult could change a team fight even if the team was behind. It still has that potenitla but is much harder in my experience as you need to kill the target or knock off all of 4 vulnverabulity spots in a fairly short amount of time. However if you do this it results in an enormous aoe heal that is really powerful. Now that being said I find team fighting with her difficult. You can't just jump in and eliminate their adc as before and u are vulerbale to focus fire as people still focus you obviously. I am trying to figure out her role and split pushing seems to be it as she excels in 1v1 and 2v2 situations but in 5v5 your team cant really afford normally for you to play cleanup and even if so your not as good as it as champs like yi. For split pushing jax, atrox, tryn are all better.

TLDR - New fiora is fun a great duelist that is rewarding , her laning phase is strong but her lack of team fighting ability while not really excelling as well as other as a split pusher leaves her in an awkard spot.

I feel like she is much weaker in lane than before, I guess if she dies early she doesnt get beat as hard as she used to but if she is even I don't feel like she is really better than she was. I think that her passive reminds people to trade in lane which helps players who didnt already look for these opportunities but vs good opponents they just trade back and most of them have more sustain so she falls further and further behind. While she can duel some people there are also some characters that she has a really rough time vs, especially anyone ranged, try fighting cait or ezreal and its basically impossible, even Jinx is hard to close on because of rocket range.

Her w is too short ranged and too slow to really be useful when chasing and her slow on her e doesnt last long enough, I actually think if fiora had her old e her kit would feel a lot more fluid.

Her ult is basically the worst thing ever, In all ins it barely adds any damage and it last such a short time its very hard to get the heal off. Her base stats are also pretty low so she is hard to teamfight with since she has no built in survivability, basically she just ults and tries to get that kill before she gets hit 3 times and dies even if you build tanky. its very rare that I feel like my ult made a difference one way or the other and I have even considered not skilling it until q and w are maxed.

I think her ult needs to give better steroids, something like 30% movespeed 100% attack speed vs the ult target and armor and mr, maybe with a longer cd.

I do agree with some of your assements without any real cc and one gap close almost any adc can kit you so timing is much hard er the n when you could just double dash and ult. However I feel she is stronger in lane then before. I disagree though on the weaker lane phase. If you hit lvl 2 and q into the vulerbale spot then proc your e with the slow followed up by a cirt that's half of almost anyones hp pool. If they trade back worst case your both at half hp. I like to start long sword and 3 pots so I can sustain well enough. I don't find myself running out of mana as I did before where I felt like I had to start flask. I enjoy her over all but she needs something to define her role as I stated in my oringal post she doesn't excel at cleanup/hyper carry type champ or as a split push compared to other top end split pushers.

I do like your idea of a steroid to you ult. That's one viable option. I think another is to ad and attack speed steroid to her E or as a passive somewhere . If they want her to be a split pusher which seems to be the case she needs something to take objectives faster. Also I feel ike tiamats is amust but it doesn't synergize with her ult anymore but you need it just to clear creep.

She's a lot weaker than before in lane. She used to have a very strong early game. I think the rework Riot gave her gives her so much more potential than she once had, and depth in her gameplay. That's what she really needed, so I consider it a success.

Her Q used to be the ability that was killer in lane. Many people died from the QAAQAA combo. This new Q is very underwhelming, and it puts you in range of stronger melee carries when you have no escape. That's dangerous, and now it's even more difficult going up against champions like Darius. They can get all their spells off on you when all you in.

Her W is decent, and I like it. However it's unreliable, and takes a lot more effort and skill to use correctly. The cooldown on it is brutal as well. Irelia has a similar ability, but it's not as difficult to execute.

Her E is so mediocre. I was never the biggest fan of her previous E, but this one is very underwhelming. Soft slow, short duration AS buff, cannot crit on first strike, and is also on a long cooldown. This ability needs a buff more than anything.

Fiora's ult is great. It's also unreliable though, and more difficult to trigger, but the reward you get for it works out nicely. I'm not in love with it, but I can live with it. I can see great plays being made around it.

What I would like to see in the future for Fiora is playing around with her base stats to see what works best for her, lower cooldowns on her W and E, and a buff to E and her passive. I think that would go a long way to making her competitive with the rest of the bruisers. As it stands she has terrible wave clear, a bad laning phase, and not many escapes. There's no reason to choose her over other bruisers except for her heal, and that's it's not reliable enough.
