User verification before entering ARAM games

A large portion of ARAM games I play are littered with bots. There will be atleast one, to every other player except myself being a bot. It ruins the game for either/both teams because they just feed and barely contribute anything other than being the diver and dying. Reporting them doesn't seem to do much, since this problem has been going on for ages (I've searched the boards).

My suggestion if it is anyway possible, can't Riot add a verification system before entering an ARAM game? Like typing a random word or selecting a correct picture to confirm that you are human.

That wouldn't really help a whole lot. A lot of these accounts are just XP/IP farming. The person doing it would just have to do the verification and then let the scripts run as they do now.

I like the idea, as a not quite 30 player, I've more or less forced into ARAM games to level because of all the level 30 players in my games. But the bots issue is becoming a problem and I do report them everytime I find one, but it doesn't seem to help.

Yeah I just can't wait to get even more "dodges" just because people forget to verify themselves, that sure sounds like fun.

I never see bots in aram games, I do believe the people that say they do because I do see bots in my vs ai game, I know these things exist and ruin player experiences. But please don't fuck up this game even more with crappy suggestions like this. It will probably just turn into a hassle for real players while not stopping the bots.

If you really want Riot to fix the problem with bots permanently then ask them to remove the exp and ip systems in their game, bots only exist to grind exp and ip, remove these and the bots will be a thing of the past. It's never gonna happen though, that would cut into Riot's profits, they can't sell boosts and champions without these systems.

That would just be annoying for all of the humans playing. Reporting them does do a lot, but you personally never see them again so it doesn't directly affect you (I tracked a bunch of bots I hunted and they are 'inactive' now.) The problem is that people keep making new bots so the problem never seems to go away. Bots are actually a small% and once you play enough ARAM there are zero bots in the games.

After your mmr goes up they are gone from your games. Bots are an issue in every game with a leveling system. Riot bans them in waves to make sure they don't ralize what bot behaviour triggers their radar, so to speak.

Riot already addressed this idea some months ago.

On the captcha idea, this is something that's commonly brought up, but is not an idea we're entertaining at the moment. For one, we have a captcha on account creation and we still see botting on new accounts (i.e. we know there are ways around captcha). Secondly, as a human it's really annoying to have to put in captcha codes. Bots make up a very small percentage of all players, so by implementing a captcha in order to queue up for a match (which we know bots can circumvent), we're likely just causing annoyance for human players. That's not to say we couldn't put in some logic to only present a different challenge to suspected bots using certain criteria, which is why we haven't dismissed that idea completely.
