ARURF and Objectives (Dragon/Baron)

I'm curious to see how others feel about Riot adding in these objectives to the URF mode. item 3070 Inb4 item 3070 rant item 3070

Personally I hate them - URF was always supposed to be this mindless spellblasting frenzy of a mode, where nobody cared about anything other than damage and most importantly - fun. I don't know a single person who's ever gone like "Damn, I keep losing these URF games, I'm so tilted.", because it never mattered - victory was mostly a random occurrence, usually because someone made a mistake. But it was a mistake the team would laugh off, because it's URF, who cares.

With the new objectives, and especially the ultra Elder Dragon, the URF games no longer feel like a fun mayhem. Now it's a stupid competition over who's going to secure a Dragon first, pummel through some towers and maybe get Baron. I'm no longer thinking about screwing around with the massive CDR, now I'm worried dragon isn't warded, or that some random on our team won't respond to my pings to contest. Then whichever team gets it gets to have fun, cool, what about the enemy team? Well, they get to do the other fun thing - defending. They need to get around and defend their base in URF. They're not slinging spells, they're not chasing around with enemies, they're sitting and hoping the hyper buff wears off before they get turned to paste.

In Normals I completely understand and mostly agree with this mechanic - you get rewarded for having objective control and punished for lack thereof. Why the hell do I have to be thinking about that in URF? If I wanted to contest objectives, I'd just play a normal game.

Out of the last 20 URF games I've played, at least 18 were decided by the Dragon Buff. It's ridiculous - you could be behind by 20 kills or so, but a single dragon buff can turn the whole game around. In my eyes this turns the mode from fun to competitive in an instant. I'm getting mad at teammates for not contesting instead of laughing when they do a stupid URF gimmick.

What do you guys think about the objectives?

yeah it's waaay to important, the true damage DOT from dragon makes such a big impact, and that's not even talking about the dragon buffs themselves, rather they'd get rid of it really.

as for baron it needs something added to it, allot of the time it only takes 1 champion to clear so all the other 4 can put pressure on lanes or your team, I know I know ''just ward it'' except oracles has 4 seconds of downtime so it's near impossible to ward place if you're behind and enemy team has 2 members with oracle

Now it's more about fighters, bruisers and ADCs :P

oh because mages can't do rediculous shit in urf

have you SEEN LULU? XERATH? LUX?

Oh sure they can. But even before they get to cast a spell any normal ADC can crit them for 600hp + some true damage a hit with 2,5AS. Or Riven/Trundle/whatever can just eat them alive.

Mages aren't weak in URF, but the real urf masters, at least in this version, are mobile AD and ADCs.

The only way to have truly fun mayhem w/ arurf is to put it on the HA map. One lane, mass team fights w/ lots of dmg.. Keeps it fun. SR map isn't fun. SR map is for competition ;)

I disagree - with the cannon being implemented and other features (such as a permanent MS buff to both ranged and meele), summoners rift has become a highly mobile, fun map. I find that you can pull off even more stupid shit on summoners rift than HA, stuff that people wont expect.

For example, in HA champs like Zyra, or Makoai dont have their chance to shine, as some of their abilities synchronise with the abundance of bushes, and the unpredictability of SR, unline HA.

URF is intrinsically broken, they refused to disable certain champions they KNEW were going to break the game, and barely disabled 2 runes that probably would have made urf implode. Honestly, objectives matter more than actually winning at this point. I've had games when we spend 20 or so minutes fighting around who gets drag/baron first, and that usually decides it. And mentioned below(or above when you see this): Supports are by far the strongest class out of all of them(bar a few, Taric) Lux, stunlock(you get around 1 second to move before she stuns you again for overextending) Lulu, infinite polymorph(Cant attack if you never have access to your abilities or AA) Tahm Kench, INFINITE SCALING(He has something like an 80% ap scaling on his q... does 100-200 damage depending on firstbuy, dorans or relic, also stacks for a stun and ultra damage, also has an infinite portal of begone thot) Pyke, havent seen him KogMaw, Literally an artillery cannon(Step 1 to win, get level 6. Step 2, spam R. Enemy team cant even attack you) Galio, ClapDemCheeks(Literally no counter except stunlock/running opposite direction or bursting if hes full ap, god forbid he hybrids.) Hecarim(Not really a support, but can be played like one),1tap at level 6(Builds stattik shiv and ghostblade, 1200 ms at level 10. Can 1v1 eldar at 10)

At this point, the list goes on. I believe objectives are too OP yes, but they dont decide a game most of the time. I'ts whichever team has the most cc and mobility they can effectively use. For example, a 600+ AP Tahm Kench can use the cannon to get to halfway(about) to your base, R into it and proceed to tap your turrets, while spamming e for inf shield, you lose the game in <20 secs. Lux -> unless kayn/higher aa range and high mobil/anti cc band item 3140 you will lose the game, unless she gets supressed.

Honestly, skill isnt even the deciding factor in most games. All it takes is a jacked up lux on a rabadons at 7-8 mins to 1tap turrets and destroy your team in an E.

Welcome to URF. Smell the pain and destruction of OP supports.

The Dragon Buff needs to go. It is ruining the game for me. Matches go from fairly even to completely unwinnable. Get dragon, get baron, next dragon is up already, get dragon again. Win.
