Why do people not buy wards and not understand teamfighting?

So I got into League pretty recently and last season I went 3-7 in my promos and got Silver V which I was very happy about. This year I go 4-6 and get Bronze V (thx rito for knowing how to count). I have heard bad things about it and lord almighty are they true. This isn't a thread about "everybody sucks but me, too hard to carry noobs" so keep that in mind before you comment. I played many games in bronze V and nobody wards. Every game I buy a minimum of 5 wards and no one on my team buys wards. The most anyone on my team ever bought wards was a person that had bought 2. You might say they don't give you combat stats but its like life insurance. You place it in a bush and the jungler won't gank you. Way better than facechecking like an idiot. This leads me to my second point, why don't they understand teamfighting? For example, a tank engages and they ALWAYS target the tank. It doesn't matter if they have a fed adc in the backline killing all of us. If I engage the teamfight as a Udyr or Nasus or Singed (my main champions) and try to kill the ADC or try to flip him or slow him so my team can kill the ADC THEY STILL FOCUS THE TANK. How do I let them know what to do politely? Also, 1 last thing. When I play any champion that is very good at splitpushing and I splitpush and when they send 2-3 members of their team I am constantly spam pinging and telling them to go mid and push the towers because there is very little defence and they just ignore me. Any tips?

TL;DR: How do I deal with teammates that don't ward? How do I help my team understand who to target in teamfights? How do I tell my team politely to push mid when I am splitpushing?

Nooooooot really...

Whether you are Bronze or Challenger, LoL is still a team game, and the team needs to be in sync with each other in order to win. I've honestly only seen a few games where one man carries it all, but for the rest is up to the effort of your team.

If your team sucks, why not be the guy with the level head? Direct your team, give advice on how to get over bad situations (like a laner who is dying so much to the point of feeding), and NEVER chastise your team.

I think one of the biggest problems with the LoL community is that they dwell so much on whatever the problem is rather than trying to find a solution.

While I agree with the idea of keeping a level head and trying to direct people that doesn't really work when you try to offer advice and they just tell you to STFU or call you a noob. This community (especially in lower ELO) refuses to take any advice given to them cause the majority think they know more than the person trying to be helpful.

Facechecking seems to be a problem in all elo's... I've seen Diamonds do it when spectating, some players just don't play super defensively. I've done the same thing when in my jungle and paid the price - best thing you can do is control what you can.

  1. Encourage them to buy the upgraded trink.
  2. Set up plays to target the squishy in team fights.
  3. I would encourage them to bait mid, not push it... don't want them over extended in a 4v5.

How do I deal with teammates that don't ward?

Encourage them to do so, and most importantly upgrade their trinket items around mid/late. I think some players have a misconception that either warding is the support's job or that it delays their build, to which I say that 75 gold for just a regular ward is not much at all, and neither is the cost of upgrading from a yellow trinket, so there's no real excuse.

How do I help my team understand who to target in teamfights?

This one's actually kind of tricky, because teamfights are all about positioning, and if their carries are good, they would kite from spots that make 'em hard to reach and/or have the reaction time to immediately back off the moment someone edges an inch towards them, and in the meanwhile the rest of the team is pretty much egging on you, leading to a quick death.

Otherwise, using your pings to target the person you want your team to focus can definitely help in getting player's attention. It's also somewhat of an impulsive action (I'm guilty of this, hence why I'm still Bronze 1 >_>) to attack the first person who is out of position in a teamfight, whether they are tanky or not. For obvious reasons, you shouldn't do this.

How do I tell my team politely to push mid when I am splitpushing?

Actually tell them? Communication is key, bro. If it doesn't work the first time, just tell them again until they get it

Yeah, none of these work. They all think that they belong in challenjour and that I know nothing about the game mechanics and they do nothing. So I will most likely just play splitpushing champions and never teamfight and see how far that will bring me since teamfighting in this ELO is horrible. If you try to go for the carries on like a Zed and try to kill their fed ADC or AP mid they will flame you for not focusing the tank that does 200 dmg with his ult. Riot, can't you release guides for the players that don't know a lot about this game?
