Ranked Flex Placement

So, I never post on the forums- however I was apparently unable to submit a ticket for this issue. I just played my forced 11th placement game in which I went support. Our team dominated until a farmed Nasus single handedly beat our team 1v5. No big deal, it happens. The problem is that when I finished my 10th placement game the other day (in which I played with 100% diamond players), we won and I finished 8-2. I was given GOLD III placement, and I was stoked. Today after this loss, finishing 8-3, I was given BRONZE I.

 This is completely unacceptable. First off, being forced into an 11th game to decide my placement is extremely annoying. Secondly- I skipped an entire tier, which is ultimately what I ended up last season (Silver II). I would seriously like to hear from a Riot employee about this because I feel so cheated right now that I am ready to uninstall. I understand that there will be a "soft reset" once the ranked season starts, but obviously with this placement, my dreams of being GOLD for the first time in my 6 year journey will be crushed before it even begins. Yeah it's serious disrespect atm. I won 8/10 games of my placements, got placed gold 1 since I'm a plat player. They make us do another placement, I lose, get shot down to Silver 2.

Because of the MMR mismatch in Flex Queue, you got reset to the original starting point (pre placements). But remember this is only Preseason, the rank you accomplish now WILL BE RESET AGAIN! The rank you get in preseason does only influnece the placement in Season 7 to a SMALL extend! (only your starting point in season 7 is affected by Preseason ranks) Sidenote: 1-2 Tier drops are completely normal in preseason.

I.E.: You were Plat 5 at the end of the season, were placed high Silver after placements, now got placed low Silver. If you now climb to Plat again, you will then only be placed in low Gold at the start of Season 7!

So dont worry to much about the current placement!

The placements before were wrong completely. It was placing Diamonds in Bronze and Silvers in Plat/high gold for no reason whatsoever. Everyones mmr was wacky, which made the mmr for each tier/division wacky, which made people get placed into wacky divisions/tiers. They fixed everyones mmr, which in turn made the mmr brackets for each tier/division more or less correct, and the one extra game played was simply to reseat you in the correct division for your mmr.

The one game was not some super influential game, and I expect for the majority of players, the outcome of the one game they played to get re-placed had no impact on where they were placed, unless their mmr just happened to be on the edge of a division.

You ended up silver 2 last season, and everyone should more or less expect to be placed a tier or so below where they ended. Ending up bronze 1 is pretty much where you should expect to have been placed, and is probably better than expected as it's less than a full tier. Ending up almost a full tier above where you ended is something that should never happen, and only happened briefly because everything was messed up. If you feel you should have gotten gold anyway, that's essentially cheating yourself, since you'd be skipping the many games required to climb to your old mmr and surpass it.

Still, if you found you were in all diamond games (on both sides), and were able to go toe to toe with them, climbing through bronze/silver should feel super easy so you wont have to spend long getting gold for real.

Dude same fucking thing. I even made a rant post and emailed them. This is so stupid i played fifty games and was killing it. worked my way up and felt great about myself. now i'm fucking bronze and getting trolls. i fucking hate this game AND riot.

I feel you man. I don't hate the game nor do I hate Riot, but I do feel that the ranked system is severely flawed. Feel free to add me in game- I never troll, never surrender and I always pick for the team. I have the experience and I know in my heart that I am a worst case scenario Gold player, however I know I can contend with Platinum and Diamonds no problem. Keep your head up

Send me a friend request man. I'm just frustrated because it's my main and it seems the hardest to rank up but i have so much money put into it. I have a gold account and in norms i play gold, diamonds and masters so i feel you. thanks for the kinds words :)
