Being queued against high elo players; gold and plat players

From levels 7-24 I've been playing with premade teams. If not 5 of us at least 4 would join queue. We'd always play against people with similar skill and level but recently I decided to play some draft by myself and I noticed instead of playing against level 25-30 I'm playing against level 98 and 121 🙃 However, my problem is that I'm new to the game and I don't see why I have to go against a gold 4 jungler when Im only level 28. Why is it that I have a level 98 plat 4 Laning against me? It's not like I can trade as well as them or even CS as good as they do. I find this very unfair and hard for me to even enjoy playing. Rito please

Depending on how you do with the premades, it can end up inflating your under-the-hood elo for normals.

Basically, when you group up with people, it pools your rating to find the average; then it picks a group near the same average, or else a bunch of randoms with a moderate rating advantage.

If you're very low rating, these wins will grant you a ton of rating but end up costing you very little. This will inflate your rating, which will lead to getting misplaced in yolo que with people who are noticeably better than you.

Unfortunately, the only solution is to play more so that your rating solidifies. I believe that you have some sort of rating protection prior to level 30, to keep you from tanking down into Wood 67 division while you learn the game.

Well I normally carry 25+ kills and 250+ CS with the premades. So, I guess you're right. Now I just have to deal with other people that do that 😭
