Stop the rant about Mordekaiser
I saw so many bad comments about the Mordekaiser rework, and actually I don't understand it. I don't know if you either didn't do any math or thought about Mordekaiser in an actually teamfight situation. Because if you do that, you can actually see that is is a clear and strong buff.
So, what place has Mordekaiser in a teamfight? Well, he will be between your backline and the enemy frontline, trying to destroy the enemy frontline. For that, with the rework, he is way better than currently.
First, we all know Mordekaiser likes to build Liandry's, Sorcerer's Shoes and Rylai's Crystal Scepter, very similar to Rumble. With that, he has the perfect kit to damage the enemy frontline. Rumble does that as well and this is why he is a so great counter to Maokai. That is not the only % damage, his ult does that, too. Old Mordekaiser had problems of doing that because a ghost of a frontliner didn't do much for either him or his team, now, with the changes to what Mordekaiser gets from his ghost, this is way stronger. First, 25% of their HP as bonus makes Mordekaiser 100% unkillable. Second, adding flat AD instead of a percentage of his own makes his ghost relevant even if it doesn't build any AD. So, a ghost of a, for example, Maokai, is no longer a bad choise.
The second change affecting this is the passive change. Before, Mordekaiser wouldn't get a good amount of shield targeting the frontline. Now, because it no longer factors in the enemy MR, this is considered a huge buff (actually, it is a buff to it no matter what because of the math I featured in the link). This makes Mordekaiser totally unkillable and allow him this way to dish out more damage, as he still has high base values.
Finally, the change to his shield further improves that. You can give your shield to your guy trying to get through the enemy frontline into the enemy backline, while still having a shield yourself which damages the enemy frontline. And even if the enemy frontliner decides to run from you, the increased movement speed means he has no chance of doing so.
So, all in all, the rework is a huge buff to Mordekaiser as he no longer has to focus the enemy backline and this way has no real mobility problems. And if the enemy frontline is down, he no longer has a problem to get into the enemy back line anyway.
