Is cycling good?

I heard a while back that Riot is cycling metas so every role is strong at one point in the game's life. However, I wondered if this is healthy for league. From what I got from cycling metas is that it would be forced, not something the player base makes. Particularly why juggernauts were such a problem for so long in the top lane, till the ADCs stuck their head out of the balancing room which is why we have an ADC meta. With the up in coming mage rework and new items that will come with it. Is making a role very strong compared to the rest in cycles healthy or unhealthy for league?

I don't think so. If it's an assassin meta, the game lacks strategy. In the tank meta - assuming they're hard to kill, not doing insane damage - fights get some decision making. In the assassin meta they do not.

Riot will try to make all strats viable. So they will continue to push and nudge things, to trying to align them. The cycling meta is only a product of that.

It's good, in the sense that more and more champions get to see play. And over time, a larger champion pool becomes viable. (at least until we get the Major Overhauls like during preseason.)
