I seriously dont understand why i am losing more lp and gaining less lp when my w/l is very good. Even when im on a win streak i still hardly gain any lp. Why is this happening? i just got demoted back to silver 3 because of this issue. Can anyone explain the system in depth? like am i missing something?
MigYalle4 votesIt's your MMR. High MMR, low placement = High amounts of LP gain with low loss. Low MMR, high placement = Low amounts of LP gain with high loss. Currently the system thinks you belong in a lower tier, (Silver 3, or 4.) Just keep playing to convince the system you belong higher, once you have proven yourself the MMR will rise and you'll start gaining more. This of course means losses will be a big punishment but it's the only way to keep going. (I started season Bronze 5, gaining 30 LP, now i'm Bronze 1, just recently promoted.) I was gaining around 22-24 LP at bronze 2, losing around 17, so maybe Bronze 2-1 is where I belong.

Originally that's what I thought as well, One thing that happened to me was I thought to myself "Whatever, I'll just pick up ranked tomorrow." and I went out, the next day I started winning more LP so I think the system also needs time to calculate it.
Matthias91191 votesIf you recently climbed several divisions quickly, it gets harder and harder to climb further quickly. If you won a lot at S4/5 that doesn't necessarily mean your MMR is high for S3.
Edit: also you're 1-6 in your last 7 matches, so maybe it's not off as much as you think.
