Ranked Seeding

Alright, I know there is always talk of "elo hell" but I have a sincere question regarding placement games. I have many games like Dota Allstars, Dota 2, but I am fairly new to league. Anyway, I reached level 30 about 3 months ago and I have a 40-50% win rate in solo que. Now let me make myself clear that I am not trying to blame my poor performance on anyone other than myself. But I do have a few questions.

First what are the consequences for loosing a game in which 1 or more players went afk/rage quit, does this still count as a loss for me? Also what is the punishment for going afk in ranked, is it the same as blind pick? I have been playing my placement games to hopefully enter silver or gold, ( I understand that this is not high so I do not expect special treatment). However it is difficult to win a game 4v5 or even 3v5. I am not saying that every loss is due to other people, I have made my fair share of mistakes.

Anyone have any advice/personal experiences that you could share it would be appreciated. i know that to all of you players who have been playing here since the beginning have been through this before but I need some advice.

Oh, one more thing. I think that the system with making the seeding matches has less effect compared to a players placement the previous year but i feel as though it makes it difficult to climb the ladder.

If you got to here I appreciate your interest in my concerns.

Thank You

Have a great day of gaming

PS Any suggestions for jungle champs would be awesome as well.

Loss=loss

you will get busted by leaverbuster and if you have too many on your account you will get restrictions on top of low priority Q

not really. Prior to every season there is a soft reset of everyones mmr. Youre first 5 placement matches have a higher value that the ladder 5 due to how the elo system works.

Advice.

get your noob ass out of ranked and learn the game first before you tank your mmr and get stuck in elo hell.

Elo-Hell has two tiers.

1st Tier:

This is a place every player goes through and often multiple times. The rest of the world calls it a plateau. You reach a performance peak in which you have to reach a new level to move on. you will find that you are better than those around you, but not quite enough to carry. It is frustrating but its a good sign, all you need to do is evaluate your play and push on to the next level.

2nd Tier Elo-Hell:

The bottom of the worst elo rating where everyone believes the reason they cant climb is you and every other player and no one ever ever ever watches a single replay of theirs and sees any mistakes of their own. they will stay here, and they will suck until they realize that the only person that has been in every game they ever lost is them, and its their fault. This sucks...even when you arent really one of these poor lost souls, you can get sucked in by their negativity and lack of knowledge and skill...it can actually make you worse than when you first logged in.

First noob mistake every single player ever has made in league.

Hit level 30..Q for ranked

Dont, you arent ready. a smurf can go 5/5 and place silver. you have to win just about all your placements i believe 8-2..and winning the first 8 to place gold, if you are going in clean and never ranked before. gold V is your cieling, bronze 1 i think might be the floor. but if you arent ready you will fall fast to wood 5 and hate league for a while.

you should play for at least 100 wins in normal draft. watch youtube tutorials, and find some teacher streamers. ask diamonds and mid-high plats for coaching, and be ready to admit when you screw up...its your most powerful training tool.

A loss is a loss, no matter what happened in the game. AFK's and DC's down affect the way you gain/lose MMR or LP.

Also what is the punishment for going afk in ranked, is it the same as blind pick? Punishment is the same, but people usually report much harsher in Ranked as there are more things at stake.

Just be cool and positive, even if things are going bad. It is very important to keep a level head.

Not sure what you are saying here, but the system takes both your wins vs losses in your Promo's and your Rank last year to determine your Starting Rank.
