A new kind of combat-focused support, centered on getting kills?

Say a support champion has an execute in their kit and can bind to an ADC: when the support gets a kill, the ADC profits with increased assist gold, and their DPS is buffed until out of combat, setting the support up for another execute. This way the ADC's role stays the same, they're still getting more and more raw power, they don't lose out on potential DPS spikes due to KSing, and the support player feels more powerful and important, being a higher priority target with the satisfaction and freedom of going for kills. It also improves their gold income.

What do you guys think? Also, let me know if this is the wrong forum for this. I thought about posting it in "concepts & creations," but I felt like there's an ongoing discussion about the design of the support role already and this would be the best way to connect the idea to that discussion.

I can tell from your post you are not a dedicated support player.

We don't play support to get kills. We play support to enhance our team's abilities to better perform their job. And to save their arses when they fuk up.

Support with an execute ability is not a support.

You want to make support feel useful and powerful? Give them an ability to deal damage to objectives.

This is the main reason why supports suck. They have no way how to take down dragon, herald, baron - or more importantly - a tower. In objective-oriented game, support is the only class that can't take down objectives.

That is the reason why supports suck and nobody wants ti play them. Except masochistic idiots like me.

I'm not a dedicated support player but I enjoy the role. And I get that getting kills isn't their objective, that's why I'm suggesting something new. Seems like there's room for it, and an executioner-style support gives an interesting dynamic.

yet if this was to happen people would find a way to exploit it and make it busted in a role its not intended or this support would be so far superior to others it will be a 100% pick/ban

... Seriously, because it has an execute? If Volibear could bind to an ADC, would he suddenly not have any of the issues he has now and become overpowered?

well considering people would take it to solo lanes right away and it would be busted would keep it from being a support or let alone having this set up ...

then why play them support ?

Execute, not DPS. Probably not the best analogy, but imagine if Riven's abilities did very little damage, but she had an execute on a shorter cooldown. So she's jumping around, providing small CC, but not really hurting anybody until they're already weak and need to be finished off. Is she going to duel Renekton? Is she going to outlast Shen? Do anything at all to Syndra? Nope. But she can help clean the field.

Maybe a better example would be Rakan with less CC and an execute.
