Nunu W + Attack Speed Cap?

So I was playing earlier and messing around with a full phantom dancer build, though forgot to check my attack speed after using my W. Once you get to 2.5 attacks per second, does your W basically do nothing other than increase your movement speed, or does it add additional attack speed to the cap?
