Varus Hybrid dps ownage

Well to start off, I am not a diamond tier player, nor anywhere close, Most of my trial runs with this have been low elo or wood 5. That said, I have been playing around with a hybrid varus build for a while that did a decent amount of percentage dmg, and didn't have to rely solely on a 45 percent cd. My build starts off with doran's ring, two pots, and the vision trinket. Pretty standard for an ap champ. I begin maxing his w right away. I don't do any hard engages unless the enemy is being stupid with overextends and such. Bottom line I farm like a cornfarmer in indiana who just found out that corn was now the same price as gold. I build Nashors, Wits end, Rageblade. These three usually is enough for me to carry to endgame. Farming more if I stall out during mid I pick up gunblade, and lastly hurricane, which last I tested still applied my blight. boots are cd since at this point I am pretty sure I am maxing out attack speed. Anyway rip it to shreds and let me know why this might be a bad idea on Varus, or if I might actually be on to something.

It's a standard AP Varus build you're using really. Because of Varus' 1:1 ratio on his ult and the 15% max HP damage per stack when his blight stacks are popped, you do dirty damage from this build which. On -hit builds do benefit Varus when he's played AP. And it's a great tank cheese build too.

Thanks for the input. I get so many haters as soon as they see my build at my lvl of play. Usually in the form of anti ap varus. Nice to know that this is considered a standard build.

You don't get to being a One Trick Pony Varus main without knowing a good few tools of the trade. [slayer-jinx-wink]

When I started playing AP varus I got so many flamers and ragers it would cost me the game.

No one seems to rage much anymore, besides the occasional ranked tryndamere.

Also, I'm pretty sure maxing Q will always do more damage then maxing W in the early game. I used to always max W first but after switching to Q I notice I seem to do a lot more.

You're build goes almost identical to how I used to play him. I've played AP Varus quite a bit. I've found starting RoA into Nashor seems to be the most effective. Going hybrid always seemed to make me do less damage late game.

But hey, play like ya want. I'm just glad I don't get flamed for ap varus anymore :P
